5 Page 5 f 5 Cnditins f Award Internatinal Exchange Travel Grants fr Students Cmmencing Semester Exchange Prgrams in Spring Sessin 2012 Internatinal Exchange Travel Grants are awarded the cmmencing sessin f study at a UOW Exchange Partner University. Targeted travel grants are available fr selected partner institutins and this list will be available frm the Study Abrad & Exchange Office each sessin. T be eligible fr a travel grant, applicants must cmplete sectin 7 f the Internatinal Student Exchange Prgram Applicatin Frm. This sectin shuld include infrmatin abut hw yu prpse t finance yur exchange. It must als include details abut any schlarships r funding frm emplyers r ther rganisatins. This is yur pprtunity t advise the selectin cmmittee f any financial needs which shuld be taken int accunt when targeted travel grants are allcated. Apprval f targeted travel grants will take place as sn as pssible after exchange placements are finalised. Travel grants will be paid by EFT int a student s bank accunt upn cnfirmatin f enrlment and arrival at the verseas university. Travel grants fr Internatinal students are credited twards UOW tuitin fees. Targeted travel grants will be awarded n the basis f academic merit; hwever financial need, as utlined in the Applicatin Frm, may be taken int accunt. The supprting schlarship sectin 7 f the Internatinal Student Exchange Prgram Applicatin Frm and the student interview will als be taken int cnsideratin. Preference will be given t students prceeding n exchange fr tw sessins. Award f any travel grant is cnditinal upn the student participating in the Internatinal Student Exchange Prgram thrugh the University f Wllngng, at the hst university apprved by the UOW Study Abrad & Exchange Office and during the sessin specified in the letter f ffer. It is als cnditinal upn the student successfully cmpleting the exchange prgram and meeting ther prgram bligatins in accrdance with the exchange prgram Student Agreement. The recipient will be required t repay the travel grant t UOW if he/she withdraws frm the prgram prir t the cmpletin f the exchange perid, r if the exchange is cancelled. Nrmal UOW rules relating t failure t pay charges will apply. Students must be enrlled in a relevant degree prgram at the University f Wllngng at the time f travel and fr the duratin f the exchange prgram. All travel grant recipients are required t attend the pre-departure and re-entry meetings, and t cmmit as a vlunteer upn return frm exchange t assist with the UOW Study Abrad & Exchange Office s prmtins t future exchange students as utlined in the Student Agreement Frm. The University reserves the right t change the travel grant amunt r t nt award a travel grant fr a particular institutin. Final apprval fr funding is at the discretin f the Deputy Vice-Chancellr (Internatinal). Travel grants are als available fr shrt-term internatinal prgrams undertaken fr credit twards a UOW degree.
