These rganisatins shuld be nt-fr-prfit e.g. charities, clubs, scial enterprises, residents assciatins, parish cuncils, Lcal Authrities. Yur rganisatin must have the fllwing in place: a UK-based bank accunt in the name f yur rganisatin financial prcedures that require tw signatries fr withdrawals and cheques a gverning bdy with at least three members a gverning dcument e.g. cnstitutin / set f rules with a disslutin clause t ensure funds g t a charitable rganisatin annual reprt and accunts r an incme and expenditure accunt a safeguarding plicy if yu are wrking with adults at risk adequate insurance cver What can yu apply fr? Yu can apply fr the csts f activities that deliver results against ne r mre f these utcmes: 1. raising awareness f smart meters and understanding their key benefits 2. increasing interest in getting a smart meter installed 3. mtivating peple t use their smart meter 4. educating peple n hw t get the mst benefit frm using their smart meter Smart Energy GB in Cmmunities Fund - Small grants. 3 In 2016, we are targeting funding and supprt t the fllwing pririty grups: District heating custmers (district heating is a system where a cmmunal surce f heat is shared with ther prperties) Lack f prficiency in English (r Welsh in Wales) Lacking basic digital skills Learning disability Lw literacy Memry impairment N persnal internet access Off-gas grid custmers Prepay custmers Private tenants Severe r prfund deafness Scial husing tenants Other fund pririties As well as shwing that yu will achieve ne r mre f the prgramme s utcmes, yu will need t demnstrate: why yur prject is effective in meeting the need an understanding f the barriers facing thse yu supprt and hw best t reach and engage them with yur prject value fr mney e.g. maximising reach and benefit thrugh wrking with ther rganisatins We are als interested t see new, bld and replicable slutins t the challenge f spreading the wrd abut smart meters. What can funds be used fr? Yu can apply fr the full csts needed t run yur prject e.g. a prprtin f staff salaries, rm hire, equipment hire, transprt csts, publicity materials, vlunteer expenses, csts t supprt the grant mnitring requirements and ther apprpriate verheads. 4 Examples include: Yu can als use the applicatin frm t ask fr the ther help yu need frm us t make yur prject a success e.g. campaign resurces, training and cmmunity briefings that prvide messages and infrmatin abut smart meters. As a guide grant awards are averaging between 1,000 and 3,000 with higher level awards being in mre exceptinal cases. What we dn t fund We will nt fund: prjects r activities that are nt fcussed n ur prgramme utcmes and pririty grups prjects r activities that will have happened r started befre we have prcessed yur applicatin beneficiary grups nt in England, Sctland r Wales prjects r activities that cannt be cmpleted by 31 December 2016 individuals the prmtin f plitical r religius bjectives wrk that is primarily the respnsibility f statutry authrities cre funding fr yur rganisatin (e.g. general perating csts, central csts, running csts, management, administratin and ffice csts, verheads and supprt csts) rganisatins that are nt cnsidered charitable Smart Energy GB in Cmmunities Fund - Small grants. 5 We will be prviding funding ver the next five years s if yu have a prject in mind fr next year then please apply next year. Other requirements Yu must use the grant by 31 December 2016 and can nly hld ne grant at any given time. Hw t apply Yu can apply at any time using the apprpriate applicatin frm. Hwever, as funds need t be used by 31 December 2016, applicatins will nt be accepted after 30 September Yu can reapply in 2017 thugh pririty grups culd change. Yur cmpleted applicatin can be sent by pst r scanned and submitted by . If yu are nt registered with the Charity Cmmissin r Scttish Charity Regulatr, yu must als cmplete the Grant Eligibility Applicatin frm (Sectin 8 f the applicatin frm). This will enable us t check that yur rganisatin is charitable. Mnitring and evaluatin T make sure ur campaign is effective and is reaching everyne, we will be cllecting infrmatin abut all the activities we fund. We therefre need yur help with gathering this infrmatin. As part f the grant yu will be expected t: distribute and encurage a cnsumer survey t be cmpleted by yur prject beneficiaries cmplete an end f grant mnitring survey What will happen next? 6 Applying again If yur applicatin is unsuccessful, the decisin letter will state if and hw yur rganisatin can reapply.
