1 2017 TOURISM DEVELOPMENT MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM PROGRAM GUIDELINES The Fauquier Cunty Department f Ecnmic Develpment has established a Turism Develpment Matching Grant Prgram. The grant prgram is administered by the Fauquier Cunty Department f Ecnmic Develpment and funded by the Ecnmic Develpment Authrity. The purpse f this grant prgram is t assist Fauquier Cunty turism businesses in develpments and imprvements which cntribute t grwth in turism business revenues. PROGRAM PURPOSE: T prvide mnetary assistance n a matching basis t Fauquier Cunty turism businesses fr develpments and imprvements. PROGRAM GOAL: T imprve r expand business peratins in a way that cntributes t grwth in turism business revenue and visitatin thrugh develpments, imprvements, and/r marketing initiatives.

2 PROGRAM CRITERIA 1. Applicants may apply fr up t $2,000 with a 1:1 match required. The match is a cash match nly and is n a reimbursement basis upn receipt f dcumentatin. 2. Applicants must wn r represent a turism business (including restaurants, retail, accmmdatins, art galleries, wineries, and ther recreatinal/leisure destinatins.) Businesses must regularly be pen fr visitatin by the general public and prvide visitr services. 3. Preference will be given t applicants engaging ther Fauquier Cunty businesses in the prject, either as vendrs r as partners in cperative initiatives. Changes in vendrs, made after the applicatin is submitted, must be apprved by the Fauquier Cunty Department f Ecnmic Develpment. 4. Preference will be given t prjects that are new initiatives, started and cmpleted within 12 mnths fllwing the date f the public annuncement f this grant prgram. 5. Funds will be disbursed n a reimbursement basis upn receipt f cpies f vendr invices shwing the actual csts, prf f payment f invices, prf f prduct, and prf f cmpletin f the applicant s prject gals. The Applicatin fr Reimbursement must be submitted within 90 days after prject cmpletin. Extensins will be subject t apprval. 6. Prjects will be limited t n mre than 10 prjects per funding cycle, depending upn funds available. 7. Applicatins will be reviewed and apprved by the Fauquier Cunty Department f Ecnmic Develpment (FCDED) and the Ecnmic Develpment Authrity (EDA). 10. If chsen as a grant recipient, the Fauquier Cunty Department f Ecnmic Develpment (FCDED) will administer a standard perfrmance agreement between the grant recipient and the EDA setting frth the requirements fr grant disbursement. 11. If chsen as a grant recipient, the FCDED will request perfrmance measurements and feedback after a perid f time fllwing cmpletin f this grant prject. This feedback is necessary in measuring the effectiveness f this grant prgram and is a requirement frm the funder f these grant prgrams, the Fauquier Cunty Ecnmic Develpment Authrity.
