Tips fr a Memrable Pster There will be abut 50 psters at the cnference, which means n attendee will be able t engage deeply with all f them. Yu need t have an attentin-grabbing pster that will draw peple in and make a big impact n them in a small amunt f time. Thmas Erren and Philip Burne have published a great list f ten simple rules fr a gd pster presentatin; belw are just a few f the highlights: Determine the purpse f yur pster befre yu start preparing it. ask yurself the fllwing questins: What d yu want the persn passing by yur pster t d? Engage in a discussin abut the cntent? Learn enugh t g ff and want t try smething fr themselves? Want t cllabrate? All the abve, r nne f the abve but smething else? Style yur pster accrdingly. Sell yur wrk in ten secnds. Prepare a quick elevatr pitch that starts with an attentin-grabbing statement r questins and then fllws up with the thesis r majr finding explred in yur pster. Chse yur title wisely. It may be the nly thing attendees see befre deciding whether t visit. Gd layut is essential: Leave plenty f white space, which puts a reader at ease. Guide the reader thrugh the infrmatin using arrws, numbering, r whatever else makes sense fr yur data. Never use less than 24-pint fnt, and make sure the main pints can be read at eye level, at a cnversatinal distance. Be cncise! Remember that a (gd, carefully chsen) picture (graph/ table/ diagram) is wrth a thusand wrds. Use graphics that can be understd at a glance but prvide mre detailed infrmatin upn clser inspectin.
