2 WHAT IS THE VOUTH OPPORTUNITIES FUND lvofj? An annual prgram that prvides grants and capacity-building supprts t yuth-led grassrts grups and cllabratives serving yung peple. The YOF is a prgram f the Gvernment f Ontari, administered by OTF.

3 Ontari s Black Yuth Actin Plan What is the Ontari Black Yuth Actin Plan? The plan is a fur-year, $47 millin cmmitment by the Gvernment f Ontari t help reduce disparities fr Black children, yuth and families. Under the Ontari Black Yuth Actin Plan, the Yuth Opprtunities Fund will increase by $1 millin annually t supprt grassrts prjects and cllabratives fcused n building skills fr the 21 st century. The YOF is cmmitted t reaching and engaging many mre yung Black leaders acrss the prvince and investing in their ideas fr change.

4 YOF OUTCOMES In June 2013, the Gvernment f Ontari released Stepping Up: A Strategic Framewrk t Help Ontari s Yuth Succeed. Stepping Up cnsists f seven themes and 20 related utcmes that are essential t yuth wellbeing. Six utcmes were selected t create the granting framewrk fr the YOF.

Yuth may be navigating barriers like: Racism and ther frms f discriminatin Ecnmic insecurity Cultural discnnectin Stigma Trauma Scial islatin Lack f accessible services and supprts CONSIDER What are the specific barriers facing the yung peple yu wrk with?

7 The YOF benefits yuth aged 12 t 25 and their families, and wh are: Indigenus yuth (i.e. First Natin, Métis r Inuit yuth) Racialized yuth Newcmer yuth Lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender, tw-spirit and queer yuth Francphne yuth Yuth living with disabilities r special needs (12 t 29 years) Yuth living in rural and remte cmmunities Yuth in cnflict with the law Yuth in care r leaving care Yuth in lw-incme situatins r frm lw-incme families Yuth at risk f drpping ut r wh have drpped ut f schl TAKE NOTE All YOF initiatives directly benefit ne r mre f these grups f yuth
