The Team that receives this award is a strng ambassadr fr FIRST prgrams and a rle mdel FIRST Team. This Team is a tp cntender fr many ther judged awards and is a gracius cmpetitr. The Inspire Award winner is an inspiratin t ther Teams, acting with Gracius Prfessinalism bth n and ff the Playing Field. This Team shares their experiences, enthusiasm and knwledge with ther Teams, spnsrs, their cmmunity, and the Judges. Wrking as a unit, this Team will have shwed success in perfrming the task f designing and building a Rbt. Remving engineering bstacles thrugh creative thinking. This judged award is given t the Team that best reflects the jurney the Team tk as they experienced the engineering design prcess during the build seasn. The Engineering sectin f the ntebk is the key reference fr judges t help identify the mst deserving Team. The Team s Engineering sectin must fcus n the design and build stage f the Team s Rbt. Jurnal entries must include descriptins f the underlying science and mathematics f the Rbt design and game strategies, the designs, redesigns, successes, and pprtunities fr imprvement. A Team is nt a candidate fr this award if they have nt cmpleted the Engineering sectin f the Engineering Ntebk. 1 P a g e Think Award Team is a strng cntender fr several ther Judged awards. The Inspire Award celebrates the strngest qualities f all the Judged Awards. The Team is an ambassadr fr FIRST prgrams. They demnstrate and dcument their wrk in their cmmunity. Team is psitive and inclusive, and each Team member cntributes t the success f the Team. Engineering ntebk must include an Engineering sectin, a Team sectin and a Business r Strategic Plan. The entire Engineering Ntebk must be high quality, thughtful, thrugh, detailed and well rganized. Rbt design is creative and innvative, and the Rbt perfrms reliably n the field. Team cmmunicates clearly abut their Rbt design and strategy t the judges. Team presentatin is prfessinal and engaging. Required criteria fr the Think Award: Engineering Ntebk must have an Engineering sectin that includes entries describing underlying science, mathematics, and game strategies. The Engineering Ntebk must shw that the Team has a clear understanding f the engineering design prcess, with pictures r

This judged award is given t the Team that mst cnnects with their lcal science, technlgy, engineering and math (STEM) cmmunity. A true FIRST Team is mre than a sum f its parts, and recgnizes that engaging their lcal STEM cmmunity plays an essential part in their success. The recipient f this award is recgnized fr helping the cmmunity understand FIRST, the FIRST Tech Challenge, and the Team itself. The Team that wins the Cnnect Award aggressively seeks and recruits engineers and explres the pprtunities available in the wrld f engineering, science and technlgy. This Team has a clear Business r Strategic Plan and has identified steps t achieve their gals. Cnnect Award drawings and details dcumenting all stages f Rbt design. Required criteria fr the Cnnect Award: Rckwell Cllins Innvate Award Bringing great ideas frm cncept t reality. Engineering Ntebk must include a Business r Strategic plan that identifies their future gals and the steps they will take t reach thse gals. The plan culd include fund-raising gals, sustainability gals, timelines, utreach, and cmmunity service gals. Team prvides clear examples f develping in persn r virtual cnnectins with individuals in the engineering, science, r technlgy cmmunity. Team actively engages with the engineering cmmunity t help them understand FIRST, the FIRST Tech Challenge, and the Team itself. Required criteria fr the Rckwell Cllins Innvate Award: The Rckwell Cllins Innvate Award celebrates a Team that thinks utside the bx, and has the ingenuity and inventiveness t make their designs cme t life. This judged award is given t the Team that has the mst innvative and creative Rbt design slutin t any specific cmpnents in the FIRST Tech Challenge game. Elements f this award include elegant design, rbustness, and ut f the bx thinking related t design. This award may address the design f the whle Rbt, r f a sub-assembly attached t the Rbt. The creative cmpnent must wrk cnsistently, but a Rbt des nt have t wrk all the time during Matches t be cnsidered fr this award. The Team s Engineering Ntebk must include jurnal entries t shw the design f the cmpnent r cmpnents and the Team s Rbt t be eligible fr this award. Entries must describe hw the Team arrived at their slutin. Engineering Ntebk must include an Engineering sectin that dcuments the design prcess and hw the Team arrived at their design slutin. Rbt r Rbt sub-assembly must be elegant and unique in its design. Creative cmpnent must be stable, rbust, and wrk reliably. The Design Award is presented t Teams that incrprate industrial design elements int their slutin. These design elements culd simplify the Rbt s appearance by giving it a clean lk, be decrative in nature, r therwise express the creativity f the Team. The winning design shuld nt cmprmise the practical peratin f the Rbt but cmplement its purpse. Design Award Mtivate Award Sparking thers t embrace the culture f FIRST! Required criteria fr the Design Award: Team must submit an Engineering Ntebk with an Engineering sectin that includes detailed Rbt design drawings. Team demnstrates industrial design principles, striking a balance between frm, functin, and aesthetics. Rbt distinguishes itself frm thers by its aesthetic and functinal design. Basis fr the design is well cnsidered (that is inspiratin, functin, etc.). Required criteria fr the Mtivate Award: This Team embraces the culture f FIRST and clearly shws what it means t be a Team. This judged award celebrates the Team that represents the essence f the FIRST Tech Challenge cmpetitin thrugh Team building, Team spirit and displayed enthusiasm. This is a Team wh makes a cllective effrt t make FIRST knwn thrughut their schl and cmmunity, and sparks thers t embrace the culture f FIRST. Teams must submit a neminute lng public service annuncement (PSA) vide based n the PSA subject fr the seasn. Teams may win the Prmte Award nly nce at a Champinship level event and nly nce at a qualifying level event. The winner f the Cmpass Award will be determined frm candidates nminated by FIRST Tech Challenge student Team members, via a secnd vide submissin. The vide must highlight hw their Mentr has helped them becme an inspiratinal Team. We want t hear what sets the Mentr apart. Strngly suggested criteria fr the Cntrl Award: Advanced sftware techniques and algrithms are encuraged. Cntrl Cmpnents shuld wrk reliably. Required criteria fr the Prmte Award: Vide must meet the fllwing criteria: Vide Must fllw FIRST branding and design standards Vide cannt be lnger than 60 secnds. Vide must be f a high quality, as submissins may be used at a later time t prmte FIRST. Team must have rights t music used in the vide. Music and permissins must be listed in vide credits Vide must have strng prductin value. Vide must be submitted by the deadline given by the Event Organizer Team must present a thughtful and impactful vide which appeals t the public.
