Its lcatin and arid climate make the base ideal fr aviatin training. Nellis AFB is currently under the cmmand f the Air Cmbat Cmmand. Its hst unit is the 99th Air Base Wing, which als supprts the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) and Creech AFB. In additin, Nellis AFB is hme t the U.S. Air Frce Warfare Center, which versees five U.S. Air Frce wings acrss the cuntry, three f which are lcated at Nellis AFB. The wing prvides installatin supprt fr mre than 10,000 persnnel assigned t Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, and the Nevada Test & Training Range. Three grups are assigned t the wing: 99th Missin Supprt Grup, 99th Medical Grup and the 799 th Air Base Grup. 99 th Missin Supprt Grup: The 99 th Missin Supprt Grup prvides civil engineer, cmmunicatins, cntracting, lgistics readiness, persnnel, and services supprt fr Nellis AFB, Creech AFB, and the Nevada Test and Training Range. 99 th Medical Grup: The 99 th Medical Grup ensures maximum wartime readiness in supprt f Air Cmbat Cmmand's largest bases. Maintains medical services fr 10.9K Nellis/Creech AFB persnnel representing 5 wings, and 52 tenant units. Operates a 50-bed medical center as an Air Frce and Veterans Affairs jint venture t eligible user ppulatin f 238K. Trains fr rapid mbilizatin/deplyment f medical persnnel. 799 th Air Base Grup: The 799th Air Base Grup is cmprised f three squadrns that enable success thrugh innvative base supprt and training fr Creech Air Frce Base persnnel and missin.» 57 th Wing: The 57 th Wing is the mst diverse wing in the United States Air Frce. It prvides advanced aerspace training t wrldwide cmbat air frces and shwcases aerspace pwer t the wrld while verseeing the dynamic and challenging flying peratins at Nellis. It manages all flying peratins at Nellis Air Frce Base and cnducts advanced aircrew, space, lgistics and cmmand and cntrl training thrugh the USAF Weapns Schl, Red Flag and Green Flag exercises. Imprtant cmpnents f the training include adversary tactics replicatin (prvided by the wing's aggressr squadrns) and graduate level instructin and tactics develpment (accmplished thrugh each f its schls). The wing additinally supprts the USAF Warfare Center's test and evaluatin activities and shwcases US air pwer thrugh the USAF Air Demnstratin Squadrn "Thunderbirds." T accmplish this missin, it directs peratins f seven squadrns. 2

3 U.S. AIR FORCE 57 th Maintenance Grup: The Air Frce's mst cmplex maintenance grup prvides n- and ff-equipment maintenance fr ver 140 assigned A-10, F- 15, F-16, and F-22A aircraft t supprt 10 flying prgrams, and all visiting Red Flag, Green Flag, and peratinal test and evaluatin aircraft. 57 th Operatins Grup: The 57 OG educates, exercises, and advcates the integratin f airpwer int the jint fight and supprts the preparatin f the cmbat air frces' (CAF) maintainers and aircrews. T execute its missin, the 57 OG versees peratins f six squadrns and tw detachments frm Nellis AFB and fur gegraphically separated lcatins. United States Air Frce Air Demnstratin Squadrn Thunderbirds: "America's Ambassadrs in Blue," the Thunderbirds plan and present precisin aerial maneuvers t exhibit the capabilities f mdern high perfrmance aircraft and the lfty degree f prfessinal skill required t perate these aircraft in a precisin aerial demnstratin. United States Air Frce Weapns Schl: The USA Weapns Schl is cmprised f 18 squadrns; the USAF Weapns Schl teaches graduate-level instructr curses that prvide the wrld's mst advanced training in weapns and tactics emplyment t fficers f the cmbat air frces and mbility air frces. Every six mnths, the schl prduces apprximately 80 graduates wh are expert instructrs n weapns, weapns systems, and air and space integratin. The schl als prduces the Weapns Review magazine, the CAF's premier prfessinal tactics publicatin. U.S. Air Frce Advanced Maintenance and Munitins Officers Schl: The USAF Advanced Maintenance and Munitins Officer Schl expands cmbat capability by develping graduate-level expertise in aircraft and munitins maintenance. The schl's teaching fcus includes all lgistics aspects f mbilizatin, deplyment, bed dwn, sustainment, cmbat emplyment, redeplyment, recnstitutin, and cmmand and cntrl aspects. 547 th Intelligence Squadrn: the 54 th Intelligence Squadrn prvides cmprehensive adversary tactics analysis, advanced unit intelligence training, and intelligence supprt fr nging cmbat peratins. It analyzes, refines, and disseminates intelligence n adversary tactics and weapns emplyment fr custmers thrughut the Department f Defense. 561 st Jint Training Squadrn: The 561 st Jint Training Squadrn hnes the warfighter's capability by prviding timely tactical lessns learned and current tactics, techniques and prcedures t ensure training results in increased readiness and lethality. It is the fcal pint fr a flexible, respnsive, and realtime prcess that cllects, vets, disseminates, and integrates relevant and timely infrmatin and is a central surce fr current tactical dctrine and tactical resurces. 4 The 66 th RQS cnducts peacetime search and rescue (SAR) in supprt f the Natinal Search and Rescue Plan and the U.S. Air Frce Warfare Center. They directly supprt HH-60G lgistical and maintenance supprt requirements fr the USAF Weapns Schl and Air Cmbat Cmmand (ACC) directed peratinal test missins» 58 th Rescue Squadrn: The missin f the 58 th Rescue Squadrn is t rganize, train, and equip a rescue frce and cmbat supprt team that perfrms with curage and hnr t deply, emply t rescue anyne, anywhere, anytime, and redeply. The missin f the TEG is t prvide the warfighter with the latest in sftware, hardware, weapns and tactics techniques and prcedures t win America's wars. Additinally, the TEG carries ut the USAF Nuclear Weapns System Evaluatin Prgram. The grup plans, executes and analyzes ACC's $50 millin annual air-delivered reliability data fr nuclear capable aircraft and weapns and reprts weapn system reliability t USSTRATCOM fr inclusin in their annual strategic war plan update. It als mnitrs, evaluates and ptimizes Air Defense Radar netwrks and enhances data sharing fr cmmand and cntrl, and intelligence, surveillance and recnnaissance systems.» 926 th Wing (Air Frce Reserve): The 926 th Wing is an Air Frce Reserve unit under 10th Air Frce, Naval Air Statin Jint Reserve Base, and Frt Wrth, Texas. The wing is lcated at Nellis Air Frce Base, Nevada, as an assciate unit t the United States Air Frce Warfare Center. Thrugh Ttal Frce Integratin, reservists are integrated int regular Air Frce units, accmplishing the USAFWC and 432 nd Wing/432 nd Air Expeditinary Wing missin s side-by-side active duty Air Frce persnnel n a daily basis. Thrugh TFI, the 926 th WG prvides cmbat-ready reservists t the USAFWC as sustained expertise integrated at the peratinal and tactical levels f warfare. It cntinuusly cnducts cmbat peratins, peratinal test and evaluatin, tactics develpment, and advanced training t frge the tls required t fly, fight and win. The 926th WG als supprts the U.S. Air Frce's first Remtely Pilted Aircraft wing, the 432nd WG/432nd AEW, equipped with mre than 100 MQ-1 Predatr and MQ-9 Reaper unmanned aircraft, in its missin t train pilts, sensr peratrs and ther unmanned aircraft systems crewmembers, and cnduct cmbat surveillance and attack peratins wrldwide.» 820 th RED HORSE Squadrn (RHS): The 820 th RED HORSE is ne f fur active duty RED HORSE squadrns and is lcated at Nellis AFB, Nev., reprting directly t the 12 th Air Frce Cmmander (Air Frces Suthern). It is a self-sufficient, 500- persn civil engineer and lgistics unit capable f prviding rapid respnse and independent peratins in remte, level ne threat envirnments t supprt wrldwide cntingencies and special peratins. 4

AFAA has several area audit ffices lcated at selected installatins wrldwide. Area Audit Offices are respnsible fr audit teams n selected Air Frces bases. The Sutheast Area Audit Office, lcated at Nellis, is respnsible fr audit teams at Davis-Mnthan AFB, Ariz., Hllman AFB, N.M., Nellis Air Frce Base, and Luke AFB, Ariz. Nellis' team prvides all levels f Air Frce management with independent, bjective and quality audit services that include: reviewing and prmting ecnmy, effectiveness and efficiency f peratins; evaluating prgrams and activities and assisting management in achievement f intended results; assessing and imprving Air Frce fiduciary stewardship and the accuracy f financial reprting.» Air Frce Office f Special Investigatins Detachment 206: The AFOSI prvides prfessinal investigative services fr the prtectin f the Air Frce and DD peple, peratins and material wrldwide. AFOSI prvides quality investigative service fr its custmers by cnducting an average f 23,000 investigative peratins per year. The rganizatin seeks t identify, investigate and neutralize all types f criminal activity. Majr crimes investigated by the AFOSI Det. 206 can be brken dwn int three main categries: general crime, fraud and cunterintelligence investigatins and peratins. T enhance effectiveness in this missin, members f the AFOSI encurage all Air Frce members t reprt directly t all special agents n any f the afrementined subjects, as well as any request fr defense-related, technical r ther specific infrmatin utside f fficial channels.» 372 nd Training Squadrn, Detachment 13: The 372 nd TRS, Detachment 13 f the 982 nd Training Grup, Sheppard AFB, Texas, prvides technical aircraft maintenance training using classrm and hands-n practical instructin. The detachment als ffers training fr Air Natinal Guard, Air Frce Reserve, allied frces and students en-rute t Pacific Air Frces.
