8 PURPOSE This conference will update neonatal health care professionals on basic and complex neonatal issues. Workshops on PICC Line and NAS are featured. The conference will benefit both the health care professional new to neonatal-perinatal medicine and the experienced practitioner. OBJECTIVES This conference should enable participants to: Provide guidelines for applying evidenced based practice in a neonatal intensive care environment Review the prenatal and neonatal risks associated with the Zika virus Provide guidance for maintaining HIPPA compliance when using advanced technology and social media in a hospital environment Describe the ongoing threat of bronchopulmonary dysplasia and review evidenced based treatment methods Outline uses for Near Infrared Spectroscopy in the neonatal population Describe the symptoms, prevention, and treatments for intestinal perforation in neonates Provide guidelines for comprehensive nutritional assessment of premature infants Demonstrate the necessary skills for supporting the breastfeeding mother of a hospitalized infant Outline a nutrition plan for improving growth of the human milk fed premature infant Define reflux it s causes and treatments SPECIAL NEEDS The Augusta University Division of Professional and Continuing Education complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
