2 Course Description This highly practical one-day course will provide the most current information on pediatric orthopedic issues in family medicine and pediatric practice related to skeletal deformities. The format includes demonstrations of examination techniques and lectures on evaluation strategies and patient management options. Time is also provided for questions and discussion. Participants are encouraged to tailor their course experience by bringing specific cases to discuss with faculty. 3 Guest Speaker B. Stephens Richards, M.D. Dr. Steve Richards is assistant chief of staff and director of inpatient services at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and earned his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Richards completed his surgical internship at the University of California, San Diego, and his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Utah. He completed the Harrington Fellowship of Pediatric Orthopaedics and Scoliosis at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dr. Richards is a professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, is an active staff member at Children s Medical Center Dallas and a consulting staff member at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Pediatric Orthopaedics and is a consultant reviewer for Spine.
