ABOUT YEESS The Yuth Emplyment Enterprise and Skills Slutins (YEESS) Summit, is a yuth activatin initiative f CS Innvatins in partnership with the Knrad Adenaur Stiftung (KAS) t prmte the psitive engagement thrugh netwrking f unemplyed yuth in Nelsn Mandela Bay t enhance their emplyability, skills acquisitin and pursue ptins fr self-emplyment. YEESS aims t identify pprtunities and slutins that are practical, d-able and harnesses a netwrk f supprt t prmte the yuth emplyment and technical skills as alternative pathways fr succes. YEESS als cntributes meaningfully t the gals f the Eastern Cape Prvincial Yuth Develpment Strategy, The Natinal Yuth Develpment Jbs Accrd, The Natinal Develpment Plan and gvernment s verall apprach t empwering yuth t becme active participants in their wn develpment and cntributing prductively t the future f Suth Africa. YEESS is a cllabratin between CS Innvatins and varius lcal / natinal Small Business and Incubatr Develpment Agencies, Academic and Training Institutins, the Nelsn Mandela Bay Business Chamber and is a Nelsn Mandela Metr-wide campaign t address slutins and participatin t pen up and seek innvative practices and appraches t bridge the jbs challenge facing ur unemplyed yuth in the NMB Metr accrding t Stats SA and Department f Labr.

ABOUT YEESS SUMMIT FOR NELSON MANDELA BAY YEESS will take place at the Nelsn Mandela Bay Stadium July 2016 and will run as tw full-days event and cnsists f: - 1. A 2-day YEESS Summit is a high-prfile 200-persn summit that aims t share best practices and exchange slutins and innvatins by yuth, enabler rganisatins, business, entrepreneurs, gvernment, the nn-prfit sectr and academia. The summit will als prepare and share inputs t blckages t yuth unemplyment and imprtantly what thers have succeeded at and the ptential fr scale-up and sustainability f appraches. 2. The 2-day YEESS Yuth Jbs Exp targets the grwth sectr f small and medium-sized business as well as large crprates and scial services sectrs that are generating and pen t recruitment. The big fcus fr YEESS Jbs Exp is a fcussed partnership with enabler agencies t prvider skills training n fllwin key areas: Jb Preparatin Basics A skills training tracks will be cnducted t ensure basic training t research, prepare fr and cnduct jb search and interviews, presentatin t mck panels, jb trainability screening and supprt system fr resume and lading f participants n jbs databases including Harambee, Cega s Gateway2Opprtunity and ther resurce linkages etc. YEESS Cmpany visits will take place during the Jbs exp and will expse new entrants and interested yuth t g n planned cmpany visits arund Nelsn Mandela Bay t get an insight t the jb market, netwrking and getting t build cntext fr the wrld f wrk.

3 Page 3 f 4 YEESS Enterprise Basics Specific skills training tracks will assist yuth with the Entrepreneurial Aptitude Screening, Scial Business Ideas Screening, Generating Yur Business Ideas and putting it t writing, understanding fundamentals f business and terminlgy in varius training wrkshps t prepare participants fr the entrepreneurial jurney. This is a precussrt fr the YEESS Enterprise Activatr Tp 100 Business Idea Cmpetitin that will be launched at the YEESS Summit. The YEESS Jbs Exp is als part f a Metr-Wide actin-rientated call t be part f the slutin with a campaign t Say Yeess! being launched in partnership with teh Nelsn Mandela Bay Business Chamber and NMMU Business Schl t get lcal cmpanies and industries t pen up and supprt pprtunities fr yuth in learnership / internships, training, enterprise supprt an mentrship prgrammes. 3. The 2-day YEESS Inspired! is aimed at sharing examples and inspiratin frm yung entrepreneurs and their stries in the frmat f Ted-X style talks. We ve identified 10 f the mst successful lcal, prvincial and natinal successful entrepreneurs t share this platfrm in sharing their stries t inspire wanna-be entrepreneurs frm varius sectrs including arts, drama, services, technlgy, prducts and scial businesses. A ttal f 400 aspiring entrepreneurs / career fcussed yuth are expected as delegates ver tw days t participate in this exciting line-up. 4. The YEESS Enterprise Activatr! This Enterprise Activatr will be launched at the YEESS Summit and will see a bradened awareness campaign, intensive training targeting the tp 100 business ideas frm areas in the NMB Metr (Nrthern Areas, KwaNbuhle, Mtherwell, New Brightn and Walmer) t prmte and supprt new yuth enterprises. The business ideas be shrtlisted and be taken fr specialised business plan and supprt training pst-yeess supprt in August and September with ur target being t secure a minimum f R1 millin in start-up funding and technical supprt ver the next 12 mnths t supprt entrepreneurs. WE SAY YEESS! A POSITVE CAMPAIGN FOR YOUTH JOBS / SKILLS AND ENTERPRISE T supprt the YEESS Summit as part f a brader business, civic and plitical prgramme t advance the gals f creating and finding slutins t address yuth unemplyment in varius ways. The We Say YEESS! campaign has been develped. The We Say YEES! aims at stakehlder and yuth t be reached thrugh: We wuld like t appeal t PARTNER AGENCIES t adpt the We Say YEESS! campaign t supprt the YEESS Summit as part f a brader business, civic and plitical prgramme t advance the gals f creating and pushing bundaries t address yuth unemplyment in varius ways. The We Say YEESS campaigns is: 1. A 3-mnth publicity campaign frm July-September 2016 t raise awareness f the issue f yuth unemplyment and raise prfile f what is being dne and what mre can be dne by individuals, small businesses and large institutins. 2. Raise funds thrugh a metr-wide crprate/institutinal netwrk t purchase a minimum f stickers at R20 each. This campaign supprts directly the YEESS Summit prgrammes as a first and practical utcme including access t the Jb exp fr unemplyed yuth at zer cst t get training. 3. Prmte the: I say YEESS / We Say YEESS campaign n-line presence / publicatins / in-huse media, website and scial media as part f a cmmunicatins strategy t individuals, businesses and especially small businesses wishing t ffer pprtunities be it training, internships, mentrships, further study bursaries r wrk pprtunities. This will be supprted with an SMS line t dnate t the campaign r make a pledge via the YEESS Website t register pprtunities fr ur yuth.

Establish the Say YEESS Fund by CS Innvatins and partner rganisatin t administer & reprt publicly n its successes / pprtunities and utcmes / impact; 2. Cmmit partnership pledges t benefit ver yuth in the Nelsn Mandela Bay Metr thrugh specific and creative / unrthdx measures t imprve yuth emplyment, skills and enterprise slutins including the annual YEESS Summit in Nelsn Mandela Bay. 3. T develp and disseminate a dashbard f indicatrs t keep mnitring and evaluatin f the issue Yuth Unemplyment as a fcal actin agenda pint and prmte ideas and practice t cunter this crisis. 4. Help t establish yuth-driven YEESS Netwrks in pst-yeess Summit t frmalise prgressive platfrms f yuth activatin in the thematic areas f emplyment, enterprise and skills and prvide linkage supprt t enabler rganisatin, funders and mentrship practitiners and entre-level jb/skills prgramnes. 5. T rll-ut the YEESS cncept in at least 5 ther prvinces (Kwa-Zulu Natal, Gauteng, Western Cape, Free State) and secure supprt fr the prgramme and its lcal impact in thse areas. WAYS TO SAY YEESS 1.
