Middlesbrough lies just outside of the North York Moors National Park and is within easy reach of other areas of outstanding natural beauty including the nearby coastal region of Whitby. The Department comprises 40 scientific and technical staff. The department prides itself on delivering state-of the-art treatment techniques to our patient population and research and development is actively encouraged. This post is part of a team of 14 physicists and 10 technologists working in radiotherapy physics. The successful candidate will possess a good knowledge of the radiotherapy process and will contribute to routine clinical service delivery and the development of new techniques and technologies across all areas of the service. There are 17 Cardiologists (2 based within the Cardiology Unit at the Friarage) 7 Surgeons,35 Cardiac Physiologists and 20 support staff across two sites providing an efficient and high quality service to patients. We currently have (7) dedicated echo rooms within the Trust, 2 of which are designed to perform stress and exercise echocardiography. The departments on both sites are equipped with state-of-the-art technology which allows us to take both secondary and tertiary referrals.
