The department currently performs Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echo, Pharmalogical Stress Echocardiography, ECG stress testing, 24 hour holter/ BP monitoring, pacemaker follow-up clinics, routine spirometry, full lung function testing and sleep studies. Applicants require RCCP registration, BSE adult accreditation; independent echocardiography, ILS and pacemaker skills are strongly desirable. The post is offered with subsidised housing benefits, an advantageous income tax rate and relocation expenses included in the package. 4 DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Rheynn Slaynt Medical Division Cardio-Respiratory Department Senior Chief Clinical Physiologist Band: 8A ( 41,917-50,300 per annum) Ref: Noble s Hospital is a 314 bed District General Hospital which opened in July 2003 (replacing the original Noble s Isle of Man Hospital), serving the population of the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man is situated less than 60 miles off the Lancashire coastline, it is 33 miles long and 13miles wide with 40% of the island uninhabited. There are excellent sea and air services. We have the exciting opportunity to offer an experienced specialist Clinical Physiologist a three year fixed term post in our small, busy, friendly team, to set up and develop a new pacemaker implant service which is to commence within the next 6-12 months. The Department provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic non-invasive procedures that include ECGs, Ambulatory monitoring (Holter, BP and event), Technician led ETT including a one stop chest pain clinic, tilt table testing, adult and paediatric TTE and adult TOE, pacemaker follow up clinics The respiratory service includes Spirometry, full lung function using body box and nitrogen washout, mannitol challenge testing, mouth /nasal pressures, CPAP and BiPAP and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. As a specialist Clinical Physiologist you will have experience and competence in all the cardiology areas of the service and training in respiratory testing will be provided if required. You should have specialist knowledge of echocardiography as the post will be predominantly echocardiography with pacing implant and follow up.
