Growing knowledge in the field of infectious disease in pregnancy leads to constantly changing recommendations and clinical controversies about best practices for the exposed and/or infected pregnant woman and neonate. This course will address current screening, prevention and antenatal treatment of intrauterine infection, as well as postnatal approach to the neonate. It will also cover the recent global crisis caused by Zika virus in pregnancy, including antenatal prevention and screening, and injury to the neonate. Potential legal liability, and ways to avoid it, will also be discussed.
