2 Statements Statements Mission Florida Hospital Foundation is the fundraising arm of Florida Hospital. The Foundation's purpose is to support and raise funds for programs and capital that allow Florida Hospital to fulfill its mission and to provide stewardship of gifts received. For more than 100 years, Florida Hospital s mission to extend the healing ministry of Christ has remained unchanged and uncompromised. It focuses on a holistic approach to heal the mind, body, and spirit. Our mission is accomplished through improving the quality of care and patient experience for all patients who seek our services within and outside the community, including those who are poor and vulnerable. Florida Hospital administrators, clinicians, and staff actively fulfill this mission through their compassionate work in the hospital and often as volunteers serving those in need both within our community and in impoverished countries. In 2015, Florida Hospital provided $129.5 million in charity care (at cost), $17.7 million in community health improvement, $13.4 million in cash and in-kind community benefit, and $6.6 million in faith based care. Maintaining the health of our community is paramount. Today more than ever, Florida Hospital's programs depend on contributions from our patients and friends. Your gifts to Florida Hospital Foundation can help tremendously in achieving the highest standard of health care. We are a not-for-profit hospital. You can feel confident that the dollars we earn and the decisions we make benefit the people who live within our community. Impact CREATION Health is Florida Hospital s vision for a healthy community. Through the principles of CREATION Health (Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal relationships, Outlook & Nutrition) Florida Hospital seeks to extend the healing ministry of Christ. Florida Hospital Foundation exists to be an extension of that mission. Philanthropy remains a vital engine to help fulfill and extend the hospital s faith-based healing mission. Community support for our services and mission is becoming more important as Healthcare Reform reduces compensation to hospitals across the nation. While sound financial operations of the hospital continue to generate 90 percent of the reinvestments in capital and physician recruitment, philanthropy will likely need to grow beyond providing the traditional 10 percent of investment that we refer to as the margin to excellence. Needs There are many needs at Florida Hospital. Below are some of our funding priorities for programs and capital investments aimed at improving the health of the community. Gifts of any size can help attain our goals. Transplant House $1.5 million Capital to construct a home away from home for patients undergoing organ transplant and recovery.
