1 Jointly Provided by: Society of Critical Care Medicine FL Chapter Annual Event USF Health Campus USF Health Drive Nursing Rotunda Saturday, April 21, 2018 Date & Time: April 21, 2018: 8:00 am 4:00 pm Program Description: The Florida Chapter of the Society of Critical Care Medicine will be hosting their first annual symposium. The event will include 3 hours of continuing education presentations (topics include: ICU nutrition, ABCDEF bundle implementation, and management of refractory alcohol withdrawal syndrome), a chapter business meeting and annual elections, and a poster session for participants to display their research endeavors. It is expected that attendees will be critical care providers, including physicians, pharmacists, ARNPs, physician assistants, nurses, dieticians, and respiratory therapists, from across the state of Florida. Target Audience: The course is intended for critical care providers, including physicians, pharmacists, ARNPs, nurses, dieticians, and respiratory therapists. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to: Describe the components of the ABCDEF bundle and barriers to interdisciplinary implementation. Describe clinical controversies in ICU nutrition and discuss ways to address in clinical practice. Identify management strategies for patients with refractory alcohol withdrawal syndrome. Overall learning objectives apply to all professions in the target audience. Completion Requirements: Attendees will be requested to sign in at the registration table, attend live sessions, attest to their participation online, participate in the Pre/Post tests and complete the online activity evaluation. 3 Refund and Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be requested in writing via fax to or to and received before March 31, 2018 for a full refund. A $10 cancellation fee will be assessed to cover administrative costs. There are no refunds for no-shows or for cancellations received after April 1, USF Health Office of Continuing Professional Development reserves the right to cancel this activity due to unforeseen circumstances, in which the full registration fee will be refunded. USF Health is not responsible for travel expenses incurred by the participants in the unlikely event that this activity is cancelled. 4 Accreditation: Physicians This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through a joint providership of USF Health and the Society of Critical Care Medicine, FL Chapter. USF Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians USF Health designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Physician Assistants AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from ACCME accredited providers. Physician Assistants who participate will receive a certificate of completion commensurate with the extent of their participation. Nurse Practitioners AANPCP accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from ACCME accredited providers. Nurse Practitioners who participate will receive a certificate of completion commensurate with the extent of their participation. Florida Board of Nursing USF Health is an approved provider of continuing education for nurses through FBN This program has been approved for 3.0 contact hours. Florida Board of Pharmacy USF Health is an approved provider of continuing education credits for Pharmacists by the Florida Board of Pharmacy (provider number 2970). This program has been reviewed and approved for up to 3.0 contact hours. Licensee numbers are required prior to the issuance of certificates. Florida Board of Respiratory Care USF Health is an approved provider of continuing education for Respiratory Therapists by the Florida Board of Respiratory Care (provider number 2970). This program has been reviewed and approved for up tp 3.5 contact hours. Commission on Dietetic Registration USF Health, CO001, is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) from 2/22/18 to 2/21/19.
