2 COURSE DESCRIPTION Clinical Reviews seeks to update physicians on the latest recommendations involving the medical subspecialities important for the primary care physician through a comprehensive program consisting of lectures, workshops, and panel discussions on topics of general interest in various areas of medicine. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to: Discuss current diagnostic and therapeutic options for common illnesses and injuries seen in primary care Identify new evidence based treatment using the most up to date clinical and scientific information Assess heart failure with preserved injection fraction Evaluate patients with anemia Review developments in anticoagulation Manage pain in the inpatient setting Attendance at this Mayo course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this course. INTENDED AUDIENCE This course is a comprehensive program for family physicians, general internists, physician s assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses that practice primary care medicine. The majority of our intended audience practice in outpatient solo or group practices. They have a need for a review course on primary care subjects, while gaining new strategies of care. CREDIT Mayo Clinic College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Mayo Clinic College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 27 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. AAFP Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. AOA This program has been accredited by the American Osteopathic Association for 27 credits of AOA Category 2-A. Other Health Care Professionals A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations. GRANTS AND EXHIBITS At the time of this printing, a complete listing of commercial supporters (financial or in-kind) was not available. Appropriate acknowledgment will be given to all supporters at the time of the meeting. Exhibits will be available for viewing at all scheduled breaks. DATE AND LOCATION The 23rd Annual Clinical Reviews and Primary Care Update course is held June 20-24, Course headquarters are located at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, Florida.
3 REGISTRATION To register online, visit ce.mayo. edu/node/1131 The registration fee includes tuition, electronic course syllabus, continental breakfasts and break refreshments. Although it is not Mayo School of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) policy to limit the number of registrants for a course, conference room facilities may necessitate closing of enrollment; therefore, early registration is advised. A letter of confirmation will be sent upon receipt of payment and completed registration form. Early registration is advised. Registration Fees $75 discount for Early Registration (expires May 20, 2016) use Code EB2016J611 Physician/Scientists $825 Residents, Retirees, PAs and NPs $625 CANCELLATION POLICY If you cancel your participation in this course, your registration fee, less a $75 administrative fee, will be refunded when written notification is received by Mayo School of CPD on or before June 6, 2016 (cme-jax@mayo.edu or fax#: ). No refunds will be made after June 6, Canceled registrations are non-transferable. Mayo School of CPD reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course due to unforeseen circumstances. In the unlikely event Mayo School of CPD must cancel or postpone this course, Mayo School of CPD will refund the registration fee, but is not responsible for any related costs, charges, or expenses to participants, including fees assessed by airline/travel/lodging agencies. In order to receive the special rate, reservations must be made before the room block is filled or before the expiration date of May 27, 2016, whichever comes first. The resort has extended the group rate three days prior and three days after the course based on availability. Check-in time is after 4 p.m. and check-out time is before noon. Call the Ritz-Carlton at and identify yourself as a participant of the Mayo Clinic Clinical Reviews and Primary Care Update. Guests receive complimentary in-room internet service. Rooms are limited so we do encourage early booking. All parking at the resort is provided by valet service. Overnight parking at the resort is $12 per night and day parking is complimentary. Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is located 35 minutes from The Ritz-Carlton. Taxis and rental cars are readily available at the airport. Travel and lodging arrangements are the sole responsibility of the individual registrant.

Mayo School of CPD is not responsible for expenses incurred by an individual who is not confirmed and for whom space is not available at the meeting. Costs incurred by the registrant such as airline or hotel fees or penalties are the responsibility of the registrant.
