Educational Objectives After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to: Recognize and manage respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest until termination of resuscitation or immediate post-cardiac arrest care Respond with the appropriate life support algorithm upon recognition of specific needs of patient in acute life-threatening situation Demonstrate a working knowledge of the types and dosages of medications commonly used Execute efficient communication and performance methods working as a member within, or a team leader of, a resuscitation team Employ competence in Basic Life Support (BLS) care, including proper administration of CPR and proper use of an automated external device (AED) Provide appropriate care and counsel for patients and their families Faculty Dr. Mitchel Schwindt and Wilson Rapp Joint Accreditation Statement In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by the Postgraduate Institute for Medicine and emedcert.
