5 Program Summary Patients presenting with cardiovascular emergencies can be a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge as the symptoms can often be vague and non-specific. Quickly establishing an accurate diagnosis and implementing a treatment plan is of paramount importance to the survival of the patient. This conference will provide a comprehensive review of a variety of cardiovascular emergencies with which the practitioner may be presented. Some of the nation s leading authorities in specific areas of cardiovascular diseases will discuss the latest practice guidelines, state-of-the-art therapies and the most current clinical trial data. We hope that by the end of the conference, learners will be able to better recognize, diagnose and establish a treatment plan for these emergency conditions.
