3 Keynote Speaker: Zoe Jordan, PhD Professor Zoe Jordan has been working in the field of evidence-based healthcare for more than 20 years. She is currently Executive Director of the Joanna Briggs Institute, leading the Institute and its 80+ international collaborating entities to achieve its vision and mission of improved health outcomes in communities globally through the synthesis, transfer and implementation of the best available evidence. Her scholarly interests are related to international collaboration, cross cultural research strategy and the role of relational empathy in evidence translation. She supervises both Masters and PhD students, teaches JBI short courses, has published widely and presented at conferences around the world as well as having oversight of the Institute s commercial partnership activity. She has developed a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based healthcare methods and methodologies as well as contemporary approaches to communication, specifically with regard to the emerging interrelationship and convergence of communication and culture in the context of a global society. Plenary Speaker: Lisa Hopp, PhD, RN, FAAN Dr. Lisa Hopp is founding director of the Indiana Center for Evidence Based Nursing Practice, a Joanna Briggs Center of Excellence and Dean of the College of Nursing at Purdue University Northwest. She is a certified JBI systematic review trainer, has trained hundreds of faculty, clinicians and library scientists and published systematic reviews. She has served on the international advisory board for JBI and for more than a decade, on JBI s Committee of Directors. She is co-author of Introduction to Evidence Based Practice: A Practical Guide for Nursing. She has taught in PNW s clinical nurse specialist program for more than 20 years and in PNW s new DNP program. In both programs, implementation and synthesis science are at the center of the curricula. Closing Speaker: Susan W. Salmond, EdD, RN, ANEF, FAAN Dr. Susan Salmond is Executive Vice Dean and Professor at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Nursing, with primary responsibility for all academic programs and clinical practice. She is the Co-Director of the Northeast Institute for Evidence Synthesis and Translation (NEST), a Joanna Briggs Center of Excellence at Rutgers School of Nursing and is a co-author of the text, Comprehensive Systematic Review for Advanced Nursing Practice.
