4 Cncept Nte I. BACKGROUND Hspitality Turism is ne f the leading sectrs in ur natinal ecnmic develpment and prsperity. The increase f turism destinatins and investments leads t psitin this sectr as a key factr in terms f exprt revenue and jb creatin. Turism has experienced an expansin that made it as ne f the largest and fastest grwing ecnmic sectrs in the wrld. Turism Industry is the easiest and cheapest ptin t achieve GDP grwth, generate freign exchange earnings and increase emplyment rate. ASEAN turism shwed significant prgress. In terms f turist arrivals, this regin has sustained psitive annual grwth f mre than 8 percent in the past 5 years. This leads t a creatin f 32 millin jbs in The initiative t cnduct this wrkshp is that turism cntributes ASEAN cllabratin, since its impact will nt nly psitively affect gvernment and industry, but als its peple and culture. In terms f emplyment, the turism sectr plays an imprtant rle in facilitating varius kinds f human capital. Within the business sectr there are categries f labur: first is the skilled labur, secnd is the semi-skilled labur and third is the unskilled labur. In the turism industry, the demand fr skilled labur is the highest cmpared t semi-skilled and unskilled labur. Skilled labur in the turism industry is required t prvide service quality and hspitality t gain turists satisfactin. ASEAN as ne single destinatin with the single slgan, ASEAN feel the warmth need t face the challenges and the pprtunities tgether with the same perspective and quality standard n human resurces develpment thrugh educatin. It is in line with the visin fr ASEAN turism ver the next decade t 2025: By 2015 ASEAN will be a quality turism destinatin ffering a unique, diverse ASEAN experience, and will be cmmitted t respnsible, sustainable, inclusive and balanced turism develpment, s as t cntribute significantly t the sci-ecnmic well-being f ASEAN peple T wrk twards the visin fr ASEAN turism ver the next decade related t the educatin, there is initiative as stated n the strategic directin number 1 f ASEAN Turism Strategic Plan : T enhance the cmpetitiveness f ASEAN as a single destinatin thrugh the strategic actin, raise capacity and capability f turism human capital by cntinuing the implementatin f the ASEAN mutual recgnitin arrangement n turism prfessinal (MRA-TP), preparing and implementing the ASEAN turism human resurces develpment plan in crdinatin with the ASEAN turism resurces management and develpment (ATRM). Nursing (Health Care) The face changes in the sciety and health care have presented many challenges fr nursing. The challenge fr nursing educatin is t ensure that prfessinal educatin remains relevant and keeps in track with the needs f the market. These challenges include glbalizatin, changes f patient characteristics, impacts f technlgy infrmatin, migratin, future tendencies and ther current issues in nursing develpment in Indnesia. Indnesia's recent ecnmic and plitical histry has left a legacy f widespread pverty and serius health prblems, and has cntributed t marked inequalities in health care. One 4

5 means f respnding t these challenges has been thrugh a recnsideratin f the prfessinal rles f nurses, t enable them t deal with the range and cmplexity f health prblems. Hwever, there are currently a number f bstacles t achieving these aims: there is a serius shrtfall in trained nurses; the majrity f nurses have nly limited educatin and preparatin fr the rle; and there is n central registratin f nurses, which means that it is impssible t regulate either the prfessin r the standards f care. Creative Industry The creative industries are sme f mst dynamic and the fastest grwing sectrs in many ecnmies, and the study f these industries affrds insights fr hw we understand the current ecnmic transfrmatin twards knwledge-based ecnmies mre bradly. The transfrmatin tward knwledge-based ecnmies has been freshadwed by the transfrmatin f creative industries such as publishing, film, vide, phtgraphy, music, etc. Certain sectrs f the creative industries have evlved int experimenting sites fr invlving users and cnsumers in the develpment f new prducts, services and even new markets. Frm a gvernment perspective, the creative industries sectr is attractive nt nly fr the ptential revenues it culd generate, but als fr prviding an avenue fr yung peple s entrepreneurship. Reflecting a cmmn sentiment, frmer Minister f Turism and Creative Industries, Mari Elka Pangestu, was quted saying: Yuths are highly influenced by the latest trends and glbal styles and are cnnected t scial media. In her view, this makes yung peple the driving frce behind the creative industries: They have the energy and creativity t develp lcal knwledge and traditins. But despite the fashinable, stylish prtrayal, yuths wh are interested in the creative industry still face prblems similar t any ther industry in Indnesia such as unevenly distributed transprtatin and cmmunicatin infrastructure, bureaucratic inefficiency, and widespread prblems f crruptin. As an industry that relies n the ideas and stck f knwledge f its human resurces, creative industries are highly dependent n the skills and knwledge f educated and creative yuth. In recent years, new departments in creative industries and design have been rapidly established in universities and vcatinal secndary schls f varius reputes and credibility acrss the natin. These schls help t prmte the idea f creative industry as a viable career ptin fr yuth and their parents. Hwever, the realities in these schls ften cntrast with the glssy advertisements that prmte these new study prgrammes. Except fr a limited few, mst schls and clleges are barely equipped and experience a lack f skilled teaching staff and facilities. Nt many schls and clleges have up-t-date references r access t jurnals, while accessible public libraries, archives, r museums that intrduce lcal arts, traditin and knwledge barely exist. This wrkshp aims t strengthening turism service quality within the regin thrugh imprvement f turism prfessinals standard. Related t nursing, the wrkshp aims t establish the ccupatinal prfiles f each grade f nurse, identify their training and develpment needs and ascertain whether any differences existed between nurses wrking in different regins r within hspital r cmmunity settings. Related t creative industry, the wrkshp aims t bst the yuth entrepreneurship equipped with the relevant curriculum, facilities, schls netwrking with creative cmpanies and digitalizatin. II.
