1 INTERNATIONAL HARMONYUM ASSOCIATION CODE f ETHICS and PRACTICE The Cde f Ethics and Practice is nt all-inclusive. Failure t address any particular cnduct des nt mean that the cnduct is necessarily ethical r unethical. A Harmnyum Practitiner shuld adhere t and hnr classical and legal cdes f cnduct. Lack f familiarity with r misinterpretatin f the Cde f Ethics and Practice des nt justify unethical cnduct. Failure t cperate in an ethic investigatin r prceeding by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin is a vilatin f these guidelines and may result in the revking f yur Harmnyum Practitiner Certificatin. All Harmnyum Practitiners must sign a Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin Cde f Ethics and Practice dcument which will be kept n file with the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin r he/she will nt be an fficially certified Harmnyum Practitiner. Failure t fllw the Cde f Ethics and Practice set frth by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin may result in the revcatin f the Harmnyum Practitiner Certificatin. Any questins regarding the implementatin f the Cde f Ethics and Practice in any regard shuld be addressed t the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. The disseminatin f the Cde f Ethics and Practice is intended t assist Harmnyum Practitiners and their clients, and des nt create any liability n the part f the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. All Harmnyum Practitiners must be registered and current members f the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin in rder t advertise yur therapy as Harmnyum r t practice under the title f Harmnyum Practitiner. It is part f the certificatin prcess. Practice f Harmnyum A Harmnyum Practitiner must give t each new client an AGREEMENT OF RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY/INFORMED CONSENT frm prvided by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin t be signed by the client. One cpy f this frm is t be given t the client and ne is t be kept n file by the practitiner. Harmnyum Practitiners must fllw the methds set frth during current Harmnyum trainings, cntinued Harmnyum educatin, and further directin prvided by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. Harmnyum Practitiners will clearly distinguish the practice f Harmnyum frm and any ther frms f therapy they may practice with their clients. Any and all ther therapies will nt be practiced during a Harmnyum treatment unless authrizatin has been granted by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. It is nt recmmended that any ther energy healing therapy be given t a client n the same day as a Harmnyum treatment. Other therapies such as massage, acupuncture, chirpractics, ft reflexlgy, surgeries, and medical prcedures may be used when separated several hurs apart. Herbal, hmepathic, nutritinal supplements and ther pharmaceutical medicatins may be taken at any time with Harmnyum. Harmnyum Practitiners shuld never administer mre than tw (2) Harmnyum treatments t the same individual in less than 24 hurs.

2 INTERNATIONAL HARMONYUM ASSOCIATION - CODE f ETHICS and PRACTICE Harmnyum Practitiners shuld recmmend t their clients receiving a Harmnyum treatment nce r twice a week as the ptimal number f treatments althugh results may be received after the first treatment. Fr thse wh suffer chrnically with severe imbalances mre treatments may be required. Seasnal r yearly 'tune ups' are suggested fr health maintenance. These tune up treatments are ideally fcused arund the time f the slstice and equinx but may be dne as the individual sees fit. A Harmnyum Practitiner must be neutral when giving a treatment. (A daily meditatin practice is highly recmmended.) Neutrality means that he/she is nt giving direct advice r judgment regarding their client s specific life situatin r health matter. They supprt the client in their jurney tward self realizatin and cnsciusness by prviding them with the spiritual tls f Harmnyum, meditatin, mantra, mudra, breath wrk, and ther mdalities taught in the Harmnyum curse wrk. Neutrality als means that he/she is nt engaging emtinally, r therwise, in the client s life challenges but rather is fcused n channeling the heavenly light f the sun t the client. Heavenly guidance is the highest and mst specific healing fr the individual. Harmnyum Therapy must nt include the use f channeling spirits, acting as a Medium, acting as a psychlgist r Medical Dctr (unless practitiner hlds a license). Integrity Harmnyum Practitiners shuld accurately represent their educatin, training, and experience. Harmnyum Practitiners understand and educate the client that the nly true frm f healing is self-healing and that their rle is t guide and supprt the client thrugh the healing prcess. Harmnyum Practitiners believe that healing is between Gd and the client. Harmnyum Practitiners hnr all frms f medicine and therapy and recgnize their place in healing. Harmnyum Practitiners shall treat clleagues with respect, curtesy, fairness, and gd faith and shall affrd the same t ther prfessinals. Current certified Harmnyum practitiners shall refrain frm gssip and slander and shall nt speak publicly r with clients abut their grievances, criticisms, r disagreements cncerning the funder f Harmnyum, the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin, the Harmnyum Educatinal Prgram, staff members, and ther Harmnyum Practitiners. All grievances shuld be expressed privately t the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. A Harmnyum practitiner never: Speaks negatively abut ther frms f medicine, therapy, r spiritual teachings. Advises clients against the advice f their Medical Dctr r ther health care prvider. Advises clients regarding the use f prescribed pharmaceutical drugs, herbs, r nutritinal supplements unless they pssess a license t d s. Advises clients against a chsen frm f therapy. Harmnyum Practitiners shuld always be respectful f the Harmnyum name, ther Harmnyum Practitiners and ther frms f healing and medical practices when advertising and marketing. Harmnyum Practitiners strive t live a life that may serve as an example f a healthy lifestyle. In essence, they practice what they preach. A Harmnyum Practitiner must: Treat all clients with respect, friendliness, warmth, and cmpassin, regardless f race, gender, religin, natinal rigin, sexual rientatin, age, r disability. Demnstrate empathy in interactins with clients with disabilities, and make available physical, sensry, and cgnitive accmmdatins that allw clients with disabilities t receive services whenever pssible. Espuse bjectivity and integrity and maintain the highest standards f cleanliness, sanitatin, curtesy, language, speech and apprpriateness. Maintain respect fr institutinal plicies and management functin f the agencies and institutins within which the services are being perfrmed, but may take apprpriate initiative tward imprving such plicies when it will better serve the interest f the client. Understand and apply apprpriate methds f tuch in assisting clients. Nt engage in sexual cntact with a current patient if the cntact cmmences after the practitiner/patient relatinship is established. Nt engage in sexual cntact with a frmer patient unless a reasnable perid f time has elapsed since the prfessinal relatinship ended and the sexual cntact des nt explit the trust established during the prfessinal relatinship. Harmnyum is apprpriate t give and receive between current cuples, friends and family members. A Harmnyum Practitiner shuld: Dress in a mdest and prfessinal manner while giving treatments. Always hnr the free will f the client and recgnize its vital rle in all healing. Cmpetence The Harmnyum Practiner: Shall recgnize that the prfessin is funded n standards f cmpetency which prmte the best interest f sciety, the client, and the prfessin as a whle. Shall recgnize the need fr nging educatin by cmmitting t fulfilling required Cntinuing Educatin Units. Shall recgnize prfessinal bundaries and limitatins f Harmnyum and nly ffer services r use techniques within their prfessinal scpe f practice. Shall be sensitive t the ptential harm t clients due t persnal impairment, and shall be willing t seek apprpriate treatment fr neself. Legal and Ethical Standards The Harmnyum Practiner: Shall uphld the legal and accepted ethical cdes which pertain t prfessinal cnduct. Shall be fully cgnizant and in cmpliance f all federal laws and f all respective state r city laws that may be applicable t this prfessin. Shall nt claim, either directly r by implicatin, prfessinal qualificatin/affiliatin that the Harmnyum Practitiner des nt pssess. Will nt teach r instruct n Harmnyum techniques and methds f practice withut prir authrizatin f the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. Client Welfare The Harmnyum Practitiner: Shall hld the welfare f the client paramunt when making any decisins r recmmendatins cncerning referral, treatment prcedures, r terminatin f treatment. Shall always refer clients t MD, psychlgist, emergency rm, r ther apprpriate services when it is determined that a client s life is in danger. Clients wh admit t having attempted r are cnsidering attempting suicide r harming themselves r thers shuld be referred t the abve prfessins. Harmnyum Practitiners must dcument and keep the fact that this referral was made in the client s private flder. Shall disclse t the clients that she/he perates under a cde f ethics and that same shall be made available t the client if requested. Shall terminate the client/practitiner relatinship when it is reasnably clear that the client is nt benefiting frm the relatinship. Cnfidentiality The Harmnyum Practitiner: Shall wrk in the best interest f the client by embracing as a primary bligatin the duty f prtecting client s rights under cnfidentiality and shall nt disclse cnfidential infrmatin acquired in teaching, practice, r investigatin withut apprpriately executed cnsent. Therapists shall nt disclse any infrmatin t the friends, family members, r acquaintances f their clients. Shall prvide the client his/her rights regarding cnfidentiality. Therapists shall discuss the infrmatin btained nly in apprpriate settings fr prfessinal purpses nly and n a need t knw basis. Written and ral reprts must present nly data germane and pursuant t the purpse f evaluatin, therapeutic prtcl, r ther advice sught after by the therapist t their clleague, the assciatin, anther health care prvider etc. Shall use clinical and ther material in teaching and r writing nly when there is n identifying infrmatin used abut the parties invlved. Treatment f Minrs Regarding the treatment f minrs - Harmnyum is an excellent therapy fr children as it is safe, painless and sthing. Fr yur prtectin and the prtectin f the child we ffer a few guidelines. This applies t all individuals under the age f 18. The parent, guardian r an entrusted adult (by the parent r legal guardian) shuld remain in the rm at all times during the treatment f a minr. Fr thse clients wh present themselves t yu in a state that requires emergency care, please use cmmn sense and cntact emergency assistance immediately. It is imprtant t recgnize that sme situatins require the participatin f thse prfessinals wh are trained t handle emergency care. Harmnyum is designed t supprt thse wh are in a current state f stable health, it is nt designed t rescue thse in urgent situatins r thse in need f first aid. It is als advisable t keep n hand, fruit juice and simple carbhydrates such as fruit juice fr thse wh have lw bld sugar, lw bld pressure r diabetes and did nt prvide fr themselves adequately upn arrival. Yu d nt need t ffer these t every patient, but simply t keep n hand fr thse clients wh may have neglected t bring it fr themselves. Grievance Prtcl The Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin will appint an Ethics Cmmittee f three members. In the event f a cncern, the teacher r student must cntact the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin by either r phne. In either case, a frmal written dcument describing the issue r incident cncerned must then be submitted within 30 days f the incident. After a frmal written dcument has been submitted t the Ethics Cmmittee by the client, student, and/r practitiner, the Ethics Cmmittee will respnd within tw weeks als by written dcument. When desired, any party cncerned may have tw weeks t respnd t the grievance. The Ethics Cmmittee can and may decide within tw weeks t ask fr mre infrmatin frm invlved parties and therefre extend the frmal respnse time. A vilatin f the Cde f Ethics and Practice culd result in ne f the fllwing: A written warning and a permanent ntatin in their persnal Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin File. Three warnings may result in a suspensin. Suspensin f Certificatin fr a perid between six mnths t ne year, at which time the Harmnyum Practitiner may file a written petitin fr reinstatement f certificatin with the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin. Reinstatement wuld als require an additinal five cntinuing educatin credits apprved by the Ethics Cmmittee as well as any current Assciatin rules. Tw suspensins will result in Revked Certificatin. Permanently Revked Certificatin All parties invlved may have tw weeks frm the receipt f an Assciatin decisin in which t appeal in writing. A respnse will be frthcming within the same time f tw weeks. Ensuring the cntinued grwth f the Harmnyum practitiner requires regularly experiencing the practice f Harmnyum, cntinuusly educating neself n the technique and principles f Harmnyum, and remaining persnally cnnected with the teachings. A regular meditatin practice is als highly recmmended. Administer at least 12 Harmnyum treatments every 12 mnths and dcument the date f treatment and level f Harmnyum given. Send dcumentatin every year t the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin based n the date f yur certificate. Yu can cntact assciatin@naamyga.cm fr additinal Practice Sign-in sheets. Submit a hard cpy rather than sending by . -Apprved Cllege r University level papers r prjects -University Level Paper is wrth 1 year f CEU Requirements -A Dctral/Master s Degree Thesis r Dissertatin is wrth 2 years f CEU Requirements -Attend a Harmnyum curse f any level -2 Five page essays n the material f a Universal Frce r Rtlight spnsred Harmnyum review meeting that yu attended in persn -Cmplete Naam yga teacher s training -15 page paper n ne r tw tpics f yur chice relating t any Harmnyum curse yu have attended Cntinuing educatin prjects and dcumentatin f prfessinal practice shuld be submitted t the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin (IHA) by at harmnyum@naamyga.cm. Please send all prjects annually n the date indicated n yur certificate. T find yur annual remittance date, please refer t date f issue n yur Harmnyum certificate f the highest level. Inactive Status Harmnyum practitiners may place themselves n inactive status when desired. While inactive, yur website listing will be remved and yu will nt be required t cmplete cntinuing educatin units. In rder t reinstate yurself yu must cmplete and submit the number f units missed while inactive. Once reviewed, yur name will be placed n the website listing. Yu may remain n inactive status fr a maximum f three years. After three years, in rder t reinstate active status, the practitiner must cmplete ne Harmnyum training weekend f any level. (The assciatin discunt will be granted as lng as membership has been maintained.) Lapsed Certificatin A Harmnyum Practitiner wh has nt cmpleted their cntinuing educatin requirement, and has nt applied fr inactive status, will ultimately have their certificatin and membership revked. In additin, it is essential that Harmnyum Practitiners remain current with the teachings and practice f Harmnyum as stated in the Cde f Ethics Practice Agreement. LEGAL AGREEMENT: I understand that I am granted by the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin use f a level-specific registratin title fr ne year. Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin retains the right t review my credentials at any time. Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin may revke my membership r right t use the registered title fr cause, including failure t uphld the standards set frth in the Internatinal Harmnyum Assciatin Cde f Ethics and Practice. By my signature belw, I affirm that I meet the requirements f the Harmnyum level f practice fr which I am applying. All infrmatin I have prvided in cnnectin with this applicatin is true t the best f my knwledge. I hereby agree t meet the cnditins set frth abve.
