2 DEPARTMENT of PSYCHIATRY & BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES 30th Annual Update in Psychiatry Target Audience This conference is designed for: > Psychiatrists > Neurologists > OB/GYNs > Psychologists > Licensed Practicing Counselors > Internalists > Social Workers > Urgent Care Physicians > Primary Care Physicians > Researchers > Family Medicine Physicians Other Healthcare Professionals Statement Of Purpose Over the past three decades, important technologies have transformed mental health care. To recognize our achievements and advancements in science and clinical practice, our 2017 conference will focus on technology and mental health. Held in beautiful downtown Charleston at MUSC s new Bioengineering Auditorium during Charleston s premier cultural event, Spoleto Festival USA, this conference brings together psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors and social workers, as well as researchers and other healthcare professionals, for two days of networking and education. Program Objectives At the end of this program, participants will be able to: Better assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders with innovations in technology. Identify specific technological applications (e.g. telemedicine and mobile phone apps) to aid in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders. Implement technology to increase access of services for individuals with mental health disorders. Increase treatment adherence and augment therapeutic techniques for individuals with a wide array of mental health disorders.
3 Technology and Mental Health June 1 - June 2, 2017 Credit Designation s The designates this live activity for a maximum of 12.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim onlythe credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The SC Board of Examiners in Psychology will approve 12.0 Category A credits. The SC Board of Social Work Examiners will approve 12.0 general contact hours. The SC Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists and Psycho-Educational Specialists will approve 12.0 Disclosure In accordance with the ACCME Essentials and Standards, anyone involved in planning or presenting this educational activity will be required to disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests in the healthcare industry. Venue and Parking All sessions of the conference will be held on the beautiful MUSC campus in the state-ofthe-art Bioengineering Building, in the heart of downtown Charleston. Please plan to arrive early. Traffic into Charleston can be extremely congested and parking around MUSC is limited. It is strongly recommended that you carpool if possible.
