About Us Victoria ward is all about Respiratory care. We nurse people who have a variety of respiratory conditions, asthma, COPD, neuromuscular lung disorders, infection and Interstitial lung disease. We are one of the largest centres using non-invasive ventilation, and have designated sleep laboratories for sleep disordered breathing. Patient centred care underpins all we work towards. We currently have 5 High dependent respiratory beds. These beds are used for those with greater need for respiratory support and care. High flow CPAP, high flow nasal oxygen, NIV support, CVP and ABG monitoring and Tracheostomy management and cardiac monitoring. There are plenty opportunities to develop; advanced nursing skills in tracheostomy care, high dependency respiratory nursing care skills and care of patients on non-invasive ventilation. There is a Practice facilitator and Practice educator to help with professional clinical skill development. The ward works around effective team work and works together with the wide multidisciplinary team. The nursing teams are well led and supported by the deputy sisters and the charge nurse. Singing for breathing group, reflexology and relaxation classes are some of the activities that support the nursing care and medical treatment. 16 Band 6 Research Nurse Respiratory Clinical Research Facility London - Royal Brompton Hospital Salary: 31,878 to 42,046 pa INC Job Type: Fixed term Reference: 312-RB-BRU-6001 Closing Date: 03 Apr 2018 Respiratory research at RBHT is world-leading and we are currently running a large number of clinical trials across the range of respiratory diseases that we treat with a particular aim to increase the throughput of therapeutic agents into clinical trials. The Respiratory Clinical Research Facility (CRF) provides a high-quality clinical environment, in which patients (adults and children) and healthy volunteers can undergo research programmes safely and effectively according to robust, ethically approved protocols. We conduct a mixture of industry studies and academic studies including areas such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cystic Fibrosis, Asthma and Interstitial Lung Diseases. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic research nurse who will provide specialist research and clinical care to research participants. The post-holder will assist in the management, coordination and implementation research programmes, undertake research and clinical audits and provide clinical supervision to other staff and students.
