Progrmming nd Production Internships The production internship is full-time, unpid internship tht provides "hnds-on", prcticl experience in television production. Intensive trining tkes plce the first two weeks of the progrm with instruction provided by the professionl V/GBY stff. Interns experience, first-hnd the opertions of locl PBS brodcst fcility. Progrmming interns ct s ssistnts to the producers, who re responsible for producing ll of V/GBY's locl progrms. Typicl ssignments include project reserch, ssisting with studio nd field shoots, tpe logging, operting computer teleprompter, receiving studio guests, correspondence nd clericl duties. During the Reporting Period V/GBY hd 6 Progrmming nd Production intems from the following Schools: - Springfield College - Westfield Stte University - Springfield Technicl Community College (STCC) 2. WGBY lso prticipted in the Workplce Investment Act Youth Progrm by tking on six student interns from re high schools nd colleges. 3. Ltino Youth Medi Institute. This internship progrm through the Ltino Youth Medi Institute llows Ltino youth to prticipte in vriety of medi lerning ctivities. They experience both the progrmming nd production side of WGBY nd lern bout how WGBY interct within the Community. During the Reporting Period, seven students prticipted in this progrm. 4. Digitl Ambssdors. Seven re college nd high school students prticipte in V/GBY's Digitl Ambssdor progrm working in digitl medi.

WGBY hs been trining center for the Humn Resources Unlimited (HRU) Lighthouse progrm since Lighthouse is trining progrm for people with disbilities to lem to help them get bck into the work force. Employees re trined in the Administrtion nd Building Mintennce Deprtments. During this reporting period two prticipnts continue to be employed by WGBY.. City of Springfield Deprtment of Elder Affirs for Mture Workers Stffing Progrm (Senior Aid Progrm). As host Agency for the Senior Aid Progrm, WGBY ssists in trining mture individuls who re ttempting to get bck into the work force. They re trined in: bsic computer skills, generl dministrtive skills, telephone nd receptionist skills nd generl mintennce nd jnitoril skills.
