Medicl Center hd the opportunity on November 17th to show the community its ltest investment in providing stte-of-the-rt Joint Replcement Surgery the MAKO-Arthroplsty system robotic pltform tht helps the surgeon to implnt new knee or hip more precisely. The system is used for prtil knee totl hip replcement surgeries surgeons t both Orthopedic Assocites Orthopedic Assocites of Northern were on h to meet with the public show off the new technology. Well over 100 people ttended the specil event held in the min lobby of where the robotic technology ws on disply demonstrtions were held to show how it works. For the pst severl yers the Dlton Rotry Interct Club t Whconh High School hs helped the Women s Imging Center to serve our ptients through significnt dontions ech yer. In ll over the pst eight yers the group which consists of more thn 70 Whconh students hs donted over $2500 to the Ptient Cre Fund t the Women s Imging Center. The fund helps to ssist ptients who cnnot fford services including mmmogrphy wigs other brest cncer tretment survivorship needs. At Medicl Center our cre tem is geogrphiclly bsed which mens tht ech unit hs dedicted physicins nurses cse mngers. Some hospitls still hve physicins with ptients on multiple floors. This cuses the delyed vilbility of physicins seprtion of the physicin both physiclly conceptully from the rest of those cring for the ptient. An ACU llows for the cre tem to be cohesive group with improved communiction collbortion. While the geogrphic loction of the cre tem is impertive n ACU goes further to help provide the cre tem with processes tools to support this communiction collbortion. Through Structured Interdisciplinry Bedside Rounds (SIBR) the cre tem prticiptes in ptient-centered cre model. SIBR rounds re for ptients requiring follow-up from the tem. Newly dmitted ptients those scheduled to be dischrged re rounded on by the tem but not within the SIBR formt. SIBR rounds re brief structured checklist-bsed with clerly defined roles for ll tem members. I think I cn spek for him when I sy they were wonderful. I commend them for their service.
