1 Respiratory Disease and Medicine Update Holiday Inn Golden Gateway Hotel San Francisco, CA March 27-29, 2008 This course is designed to provide the experienced clinician with a review of clinical toxicology, epidemiology, and the evaluation of occupational and environmental diseases and injuries. The curriculum will also include a substantial component focused on issues specifically pertinent to occupationally and environmentally-related respiratory disease. This course is presented by the Department of Medicine and Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. This course is designed to meet the needs of occupational medicine specialists as well as primary care physicians including family physicians, general practitioners, internists, nurse practitioners, industrial hygienists, and other health professionals in the field of occupational and environmental health and safety. OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to: Provide update to OEM Health Professionals on clinical issues relevant to the discipline; Provide concentrated focus on respiratory disease in the context of occupational and environmental health; Delineate key risk factors associated with adverse health in relation to work and the environment; Delineate emerging occupational and environmental health issues. ACCREDITATION The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. UCSF designates this educational activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This CME activity meets the requirements under California Assembly Bill 1195, continuing education and cultural and linguistic competency. Family Physicians: Application for CME credit has been filed with the American Academy of Family Physicians. Determination of credit is pending. Nurses: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center accepts AMA PRA category 1 credit issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME. Physician Assistants: AAPA accepts category 1 credit from AOACCME, Prescribed credit from AAFP, and AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
