1 REGISTRATION INFORMATION Offered at no cost for Pediatricians, Family Practitioners, Pharmacists, Public School Nurses and High School Athletic Trainers practicing in Norfolk County. This inter-professional education program is being presented in collaboration with the Norfolk District Attorney s Office, the, the Northeastern University Bouve College of Health Sciences School of Nursing-School Health Academy, School of Pharmacy and the Athletic Trainers of Massachusetts. Attendees will be provided with knowledge based training on how to make more informed prescribing decisions, better identify pediatric patients at risk for substance use and overdose, and be able to assist those patients in navigating treatment and recovery. Attendees will receive: 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits for physicians including risk management credit 5.25 ANCC Contact hours for nurses Up to 5 CEUs for Athletic Trainers 5.25 ACPE Contact Hours for Pharmacists (no partial credit) PRESCRIBER REGISTRATION: PHARMACIST REGISTRATION: SCHOOL NURSE REGISTRATION: No walk-ins or telephone reservations. 4 LEARNING OBJECTIVES 1. Discuss Norfolk County overdose death review data and its use in recommending strategies to save lives in the pediatric population. 2. Explain the use of SBIRT in the identification of at-risk pediatric patients. 3. Summarize the importance of using MassPAT to protect pediatric patients and your practice. 4. Describe safer and better-informed prescribing decisions for pediatric patients. 5. Summarize recent updates to the legal and regulatory requirements designed to limit access to opioids. 6. List examples of treatment facilities in Norfolk County and state the importance of treatment options to help pediatric patients in the recovery process 7. Review the importance of interprofessional collaboration to prevent overdose death in the pediatric population. ACCREDITATION STATEMENT This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education(ACCME) through the joint providership of the Massachusetts Medical Society and the Norfolk District Attorney s Office. The is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. ATOM is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of 5 hours of Category A continuing education. Northeastern University School of Nursing is accredited as a Provider of continuing nurse education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s Commission on accreditation. Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. ACPE UAN L05-P (5.25 contact hours knowledge based) AMA CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT The designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity meets the criteria for the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine for risk management study.

5 REQUIREMENTS FOR CREDIT Program attendees can earn Continuing Pharmacy Education credits for this program by logging into learning assessment/evaluation form. Participants have 60 days to complete evaluations. After 60 days from April 23, 2019, no credit will be available for this program. Credits will be electronically transferred to the CPE Monitor System. No Statements of Credit will be issued. Program participants can earn 5.25 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credits. This program is not accredited for pharmacy technicians. EVALUATION All participants will have the opportunity to review and evaluate the educational sessions and speakers to identify future educational needs.
