2 Target audience Norton Healthcare and affiliated facilities physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in all specialties Statement of educational need In 2016, Kentucky had the country s fifth highest rate of deaths due to drug overdose. The opioid abuse epidemic is increasing, and addiction to opioids often begins with prescribed medications.
