6 2017 Proposed Law Changes Prescriptive authority for: Smoking cessation medications TB skin tests Enhance PMP Enable student access Require pharmacist registration

7 2017 Proposed Law Changes Tobacco Cessation Prescribing (House Bill 4) complete a course on tobacco cessation therapy use a screening procedure based on clinical guidelines to identify appropriate candidates for treatment Documentation A follow-up care plan shall be developed Notification within five (5) days Recommend the Idaho QuitLine.

8 2017 Proposed Law Changes TB Skin Testing (House Bill 3) complete a course from the CDC follow the recommendations for Mantoux tuberculin skin testing from the CDC Documentation Positive reading coordinate a timely referral

10 2017 Rules Changes Ability to extend any chronic medication beyond the initial quantity to synchronize medications Rule 116 upon patient request, a pharmacist may extend a maintenance drug, other than a controlled drug, compounded drug, or biological product, for the limited quantity necessary to coordinate a patient s refills in a medication synchronization program.
