Four scholarships were presented by NB Evening Lions Club members, including a new scholarship named after lifetime member Lin Rose. Representing the NBEL at the ceremony were Lin Rose, Jeff Kunkel, Skip Nolte, and Glen Herman Club Officers President - Skip Nolte 1st VP - Tom Matchek 2nd VP - Ted Fero 3rd VP - DJ Martinez Secretary - Randy Christen Assist. 2 Notes from the District 2 S3 Convention recognized during the memorial service at the District convention. Those honored were: Lion David Albright Lion Kenneth De Maet Lion Robert Rayfield Lion Clifton Schroeder Attending the District Convention in May were members Bob Hasert, Skip Nolte, and Tom Matschek. Lion Bob Hasert and his wife Sue attended this convention as their last one. Bob has devoted much time and effort to the district, especially on the Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Four members of the New Braunfeis Evening Lions Club who have passed were 2
3 The New Braunfels Evening Lions Club sponsored two girls to Bluebonnet Girls State and two boys to the Boys State programs conducted this summer. 3
4 On Jun 15 th District Governor Elect John Lyon was the special guest at our installation banquet and honored us by installing our new officers. Newly installed officers attending the banquet are (From Left to Right) Secretary Randy Christen, 1 st VP Tom Matschek, Treasurer Jeff Kunkel, President Skip Nolte, 2 nd VP Ted Fero, Lion Tamer David Duhon, Tail Twister Jonathan McKinley, 1 Year Director Lillian Mc Cown, and Membership Director Grey Baker. 4
5 New Braunfels Evening Lions Club Receives Recognition The New Braunfels Evening Lions Club recently received recognition for one of their key projects, aluminum can recycling. Lion Jo Ann Smith, Chairperson of the Lions Green Team Project awarded the Club a Certificate of Appreciation for helping make our planet greener. Debate Club Thanks NB Evening Lions Club for Sponsorship Lion Jonathan McKinley led a group of Smithson Valley High School Debate Club students to a training camp this summer. The Evening Lions Club sponsored six students with financial assistance scholarships to attend the camp where they furthered their skills and knowledge of debating. 5
6 New Braunfels Evening Lions Award Councilor Scholarships at 2016 Lions Camp (Continued) July 29, 2016 Again this year, New Braunfels Lions Club members were on hand at the closing ceremonies of Lions Camp to award scholarships to camp counselors.
