Meeting Adjourned Rotarian Club Birthdays Adams, Tom - Jan 02 Dave Baggett is 15 years into his second career as a Physician Assistant, with a principal practice focus in Cardiology. He has been a surgical first assist in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery and currently is a Clinical Cardiologist. He became a PA following a 26 year career as a Field Artillery officer in the United States Army, retiring in 1993 in the rank of Colonel. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; holds a Master s Degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana; and is a graduate of the Physician s Assistant program of Methodist University, Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he is the Campus Physician Assistant. Dave s Army career included two years in the Republic of Vietnam, tours of duty at Fort Carson, Colorado; the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill, England; the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; Command of the 1 st Battalion, 319 th Airborne Field Artillery, 82 nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and V Corps, Frankfurt, Germany. Along the way, he and his wife, Magda, raised four boys and are now proud grandparents to seven grandchildren. Dave first joined Rotary in 1985 while on active duty with the Army. With breaks in membership for overseas duty, he has been a member of the Fayetteville, North Carolina, USA, Rotary Club, for 23 years. He has served and continues to serve on the Club s Board of Directors and as Club President ( ). He will lead RI District 7730 as District Governor during Rotary Year Together with his wife, PDG Magda, they celebrated their 40 th wedding anniversary by traveling to India in 2007 to

Dave has served District 7730 as Secretary; Group Study Exchange Chair for six years; and currently as Assistant Governor as he prepares for his District Governor year. He has a special interest in youth development and chairs his Club s RYLA Committee. Also, he is the Rotaract Advisor for the Methodist University Rotaract Club. Dave enjoys all sports, travel, and finding ways to assist his community.
