SUPERINTENDENT TO LEAVE DECEMBER 15, 2017 To serve as Superintendent of Red Lick Independent School District has been one of the greatest experiences of my life, said Nick Blain. Blain has been with the district since August The staff and students have been diligent in the labors. The parent support of students has been unbelievable. Blain also stated, I believe Red Lick ISD is a premier education institution in this area. AMERICAN REVOLUTIONIST HONORED Evan T. Saturday, October 28 Red Lick had their annual Fall Festival fundraiser. Participants enjoyed food, prizes, and games. Board Notes With the announcement that Mr. Blain will be leaving the district December 15, 2017, the Board has begun a search for the next leader of the District. Forty-two applications have been filed, and the Board is in the process of establishing the timeline for the interview process to begin.
3 Left: Lady Mustang, Kaylee Tilbury, practicing her spikes before the second to last game of the year. Kaylee is one of the best spikers on the team! When she spikes, they are straight towards the ground and she always earns us points. Center: These Lady Mustangs, Izzy Daniels, Carrigan Brush, Delaney Edward, Justina Okereke, Isabelle Hacklemen, Ann Lindsey, Kaylee Tilbury, and Addison Alexander, are very sad to see the season go by so fast. This was the last team picture of the Lady Mustang volleyball team. They played so hard their last game and won against DeKalb. Right:This is the last huddle of the Lady Mustang volleyball team. Right before the last point, Carrigan Brush served and got the team their last point of the season! They worked so hard for their place in the district. They will always stick together and be a Lady Mustang for life. This year's cross country season was exciting. The runners were extremely competitive. Student athlete, John Tullis, said of this season The days we practiced were always hard but worth it. and When you hear your name from the speaker you have a face of success. Runner, Brock Norton, said Cross country was a good experience for me and fun to do. This season s statistics reflect success: 8A Girls 6-2 in District Finishing 2nd place; 8A won NB tourney and 3rd TMS tourney 7A Girls 5-2 in District 7B Tied 4 lost 3 8B Won 6-0

5 Blue Blazers Serve Their Community Red Lick Middle School has a new leadership group called the Blue Blazers. This is a group of students made up of 7th and 8th grade students who were nominated by the staff. The students display responsibility and dedication to our school and community. The purpose of the club is to develop leadership skills by participating in volunteer and service-oriented activities. The Blue Blazers have already had the opportunity to participate in different service activities including serving our RLISD Board Members a meal, partnering with Walnut Church of Christ to serve a meal to the homeless in downtown Texarkana and volunteering at the Fall Festival at Red Lick Elementary School. Campus Attendance Goal 98% Attendance is extremely important for our campus. Students are more likely to succeed in academics when they consistently attend school. We are striving for a 98% attendance rate this year. We need your help in reaching this goal. Please make sure your students are at school and here on time. We had our 1st perfect attendance lunch and had 108 students eligible to attend. That is great! That was 50% of our student body. Cooper Tire Career Day Red Lick Middle School eighth graders were invited to the Texarkana Convention Center to experience interactive stations that were featured as part of an event to explore including engineering, IT, lab, and warehousing/ distribution at Cooper Tire.
