2 Luminescence Society of India (LSI) Luminescence Society of India (LSI), founded in 1990, provides a forum for interaction for Indian scientis and technologis having af liation to different universities and research initutions in e eld of luminescence and eir applications by organizing annual conferences regularly. Four international conferences were successfully organized wherein Indian researchers were joined by a large number of foreign scientis. During e pa twenty ve years, in addition to scienti c sessions, ere has been an increase in e participation of delegates from indury as exhibitors of eir products and for technical presentations. Moreover, rapporteur and oral sessions are being held regularly for e pa 25 years in order to accommodate e papers of all participants in e technical sessions. CSIR-National Initute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST) The National Initute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananapuram, is a conituent Laboratory of e Council of Scienti c and Indurial Research(CSIR). Initially eablished in 1975 as a CSIR Complex, it was named as e Regional Research Laboratory in 1978 and later renamed as NIIST in Its mandate is to conduct research and development activities of e highe quality in areas related to effective utilization of resources of e region and of fundamental importance to e country. Currently NIIST is engaged in R & D programmes in areas related to Agroprocessing, Chemical Sciences, Materials Science and Technology, Biotechnology, Process Engineering and Environmental Technology. The initute has eablished ate-of-e- art facilities for conducting advanced research in e areas of intere. Pilot plant facilities for research training and process/product development in e areas of spices and oilseeds have been eablished. The initute has also been playing a signi cant role in Human Resource Development by training po graduate/graduate udents. The Conference National Conference on Luminescence and its Applications (NCLA-2018) is a preigious annual event of e Luminescence Society of India (LSI). National Conference on Luminescence and its Applications [NCLA-2018] is going to be held during February 14-16, 2018 at Trivandrum being organized by National Initute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), CSIR laboratory, Trivandrum, in association wi Luminescence Society of India. Since e inception of LSI, is conference is e 21 in a series of annual conferences organized by LSI. The conference is e follow-up of previous one IICT, Hyderabad (NCLA 2017), earlier International & National conferences held at R.T.M. Luminescent Materials for Biomedical and Security Applications NCLA 2018 envisages TWENTY-ONE technical sessions, among few are plenary lectures and an exhibition of equipment and oer materials. Late developments in e eld of luminescence research and its applications will be reviewed and e conference is expected to provide an interactive platform to e academia, researchers and e indury. Participations from different induries, universities and academic initutions from all over e country are anticipated. Luminescence in amorphous materials Call for abracts Auors should submit an abract of an original, unpublished paper not exceeding 500 words wiout gures or tables. The abract format can be downloaded from e conference/lsi web sites. The abract mu be submitted online rough conference web site ' Each regiered participant can submit two abracts only. 4 Conference Language The conference presentations and deliberations will be in English Proceedings All e abracts accepted from regiered participants will be published in e conference proceeding wi ISBN number. Papers presented at NCLA 2018 are planned to be published in e International Journal of Luminescence and its Applications after regular refereeing process. The journal format for manuscripts can be downloaded from e conference/lsi/journal web sites i.e. ' ijlaindia.org. Financial Support Limited funds preclude travel assiance. Participants are erefore requeed to make eir own arrangements for travel, regiration fee, boarding and lodging. Efforts are currently being made to raise support for helping deserving candidates who cannot raise alternative support. However, Sleeper class train fare by e shorte route as admissible will be provided on reque to a few deserving young research udents presenting eir paper. Participants attending conference for all ree days are only eligible for nancial assiance.
