1 National Conference of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award Winners In Physical, Chemical, Engineering, Mathematical, Medical, Earth, Atmosphere, Ocean, Planetary and Biological Sciences July, 2009 Organized By DEVI AHILYA UNIVERSITY Takshashila Campus, Khandwa Road, Indore Devi Ahilya University is organizing the second National conference of Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awardees from July 2009 at the University Auditorium, Takshashila Campus, Khandwa Road, Indore. The conference will be of multidisciplinary nature and will cover the discipline of science and engineering recognized for the award. The conference is intended to expose young scientists and researchers to thrust areas of research with emphasis on indigenous problems. Bhatnagar awardees are the most appropriate scientists to draw attention of young scientists to frontline research areas in different disciplines. The young scientists will also have an opportunity to interact with the best scientists of the country. LECTURE SESSIONS The conference will have several speakers from Bhatnagar awardees of the last five years as well as few selected eminent scientists who have received award earlier. Two hard copies of the Abstract of the paper not exceeding words may be submitted to the convener of the conference on or before 30 June 09. The Abstract should be typed in Times Roman {12pt} on one side of A-4 size paper. Authors can send their abstracts and papers electronically via to brijeshkhare@yahoo.com. Acceptance of the selected abstracts will be communicated by to the corresponding author. The abstract should be send along with the completed registration form. UNIVERSITY / COLLEGE TEACHERS University and College teachers interested in participating in this conference are also invited as delegates. They are required to send the completed registration form. ACCOMMODATION AND TRAVEL Registered participants will be provided accommodation in the Guest houses / Hostels an sharing basis, Delegates are requested to meet the travel expenses on their own. Limited financial assistance can however be provided to a few young researchers presenting their paper.

3 ABOUT DEVI AHILYA VISHWAVIDYALAYA The University was established in the year 1964 and then had the name Indore University The name of the university was changed to Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya in 1983 as a tribute to the most popular queen of the Holkar dynasty, Her Highness Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar. The new name of the University was in recognition of the foundation of education laid down by rulers. Initially the university had only the District of Indore under its command with 14 colleges most of them situated in the city. The University was expended in 1995 to the colleges of the six neighboring districts. The University is academically supported by several National Research Institutes situated in the city of Indore. Some of these are UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research [UGC-DAE- CSR], Raja Ramanna Center for Advanced Technology[RRCAT}, National Research Center for Souabean [NRCS], ICAR Regional Research Station and Indian Institute of Management [IIM], The University is endeavoring to be a center for both professional and pure science courses, as the root of technology will only be strengthened by researches in pure science.
