2 t BULLETin CALIFORNIA STATE COLLEGE SAN BERNARDINO 1065 llll^ 1977 January 14, 1977 "THE LADY^S NOT FOR HOT RCMANTTr~CCMEDY A cast of eleven is in rehearsal for the Winter Quarter production, "The Lady's Not for Burning.' Director Amanda Rudisill calls the play a romantic comedy, full of witchcraft and love. Others term it a poetic comedy. The 1949 Christopher Fry play, an outstanding success at its London premiere, tells of an adventurer who tries to find meaning in life and ends lauding at the whole mortal dilemma and has the audience laughing, too. Paul DeMeo plays the soldier-of-fortune and Syndi Prater his love interest. A second set of lovers is enacted by Bill Osgood and Keri Grunest. Yet another would-be romance is sought by a dirty-young-man who believes that dirty-youngmen need love, too, ihdrtrayed by Jeff Hubbard. The CSCSB production sets the action in an indeterminate era, generally described as "archaic medieval," vdiich lends itself to beautiful velvet and satin robes and flowing gowns. Other Players of the Pear Garden in the cast are Morris Ridgew-ay, Corrine Sota, Keith O'Camb, Danny Bilson, Kurt.-Nelson and Dan Eggleston. Stage Manager is Laurel Harvey, assisted by Lucy Chaille.
