Curtain time is 8:15 p.m. except for Sunday, February 18, when a scholarship benefit will be presented at 7 p.m. Set in the home of John Rosmer where family tradition rules, conflict arises from his fruitless efforts to take up the mantle of liberal politics, encouraged by an enchantress who has worked her way into a favorable position in the home. The two roles are played by Ron Carroll and Pat Casey. Others in the cast are Dan Redfern, Sandi Gustin, John Archer and Don Blair. The play is directed by William Slout, assisted by Larry Brown. Lighting design is by Amanda Sue Rudisill and set by Sandi Stiglinski. offers you a Coronary Risk Evaluation ic is it Coronary tests will be given on campus next Wednesday, Feb. 14,by staff from the School of Health of Loma Linda university. Cost of the evaluation is $15 (private fees usually run $50) and it is open to all faculty and staff of the College. The test and preliminary arrangements take from minutes. Participants are asked to abstain from eating or drinking anything but water 12 hours prior to the test. Tests are scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. in Commons 219. Today at noon Robert Peterson of the LLU will be on campus at the same location to discuss and answer questions about the program. Test results will give cholesterol, triglycerides, electrophoretic type and blood pressure readings.

Pfau has announct Dr. Oliver will succeed Joe Bas who has headed the department since The appointment of Dr. Oliver is for a three-year term to begin September, A native of San Bernardino and a graduate of Pacific High School, he joined the CSCSB faculty in MOZART FESTIVAL CONTINUES WITH ORCHESTRA PROGRAM The second part of the Mozart Festival being held^ on campus this month will be presented by the Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Richard Saylor,^ Sunday, Feb. 11, 8:15 p.m. in PS-IO. Selections will include a "Divertimento," a soprano aria by Am Greene, a piano concerto with Michael Tachia,soloist, and the "Symphony No. 34." The campus community and the public are invited at no charge. On Feb. 18 the final event of the festival will feature two one-act operas by Mozart performed by opera workshop students. CSCSB RECEIVES NEW GRANTS, SCHOLARSHIP FROM CALIFORNIA RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION * -k it A second grant of $500 for student loaji and a new $250 teaching scholarship have been given to the College by the Calif. Retired Teachers Assn. In 1970 the CRTA donated $500 for a loan fund, the major purpose, of which is to provide short-term low interest emergency assistance to upper division or graduate students interested in teaching. The scholarship is intended for a senior or grad student seriously preparing for a teaching career. It will be awarded for the yeai Robert West, Dean of the School of Education, accepted the scholarship check from Mrs. Rita Thacker, president of the County division of CRTA and Mrs. Kenneth Gibbons, local fund chairman. 4 PEOPLE -(cont'd) Tom Rivera (E.G.P.) spoke on "Factors that Contribute to High School Drop-outs" at our Lady of Guadalupe Church before a group of junior and senior high school students recently. Joseph Thomas (V.P., Admin.) has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Uptown YMCA. Also serving on the board are Russell De- Remer (Activities) and George Weiny (P.E.) George Weiny also served as meet manager at last weekend's YMCA Invitational Swimming Meet, which hosted 40 Y's from Southwestern U.S. Last month the CSCSB pool was the site for a swimming meet between San Bernardino and Crescenta-Canada YMCA's, which was attended by over 350 swimmers and parents. Harvey Wichman (Psychology) read a paper, "Attitudes of Students Toward Potential Sources of Help for Drug-Related Problems," co-authored by Dr. Wichman and Clifford Paynton (Sociology), at the Calif. State Psych. Assn. Convention in Oakland Jan. 27. Doreen Baylis (Psych. Research Asst.) presented a paper which she co-authored with Drs. Paynton and Wichman, at the American Assn. for Public Opinion Research Convention held in Los Angeles Feb. 3. The paper was entitled "Evaluating Government-financed Drug Abuse Programs." The Arrowhead Allied Arts Festival,Sunday, Feb. 25, begins with an afternoon of theatre presenting George Bernard Shaw's "Major Barbara" at San Bernardino Valley College Auditorium at 2 p.m. Immediately following the matinee, guests join the trek to the CSCSB campus to the Cabaret (Fifth Floor of the Library) for catered champagne supper of international flavor and an evening of entertainment. Chamber Singers will bring music as they stroll by. Chamber Players will offer string and wind ensemble music. Drama improvisations and an art exhibit will be combined in the gala festival.
