EXAMS FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGE PLACEMENT SET FOR DECEMBER 1 On Wednesday, December 1, placement examinations in foreign languages will be given as follows at 2 p.m.: French German ACCREDITATION TEAM TO VISIT CSCSB CAMPUS ON MARCH 1. 2 AND 3 LC-211 & LC-212 LC-269 credential programs of the College. 3 CSCSB CAMPUS SITE OF "Effective Thinking in the Social Studies" FALL SOCIAL STUDIES is the title of the Annual Fall Conference CONFERENCE ON DEC. 4 co-sponsored by the CSCSB Department of.education and Division of Social Sciences and the Inland Empire Council for the Social Studies, to be held on campus Saturday, December 4. Planned primarily for elementary and secondary social studies teachers of San Bernardino and Riverside counties, the program will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Library-Classroom Building. Presentations will be given by Brij Khare (Chairman and Assoc. Prof, of CSCSB's Dept. of Political Science) speaking on "Children's Political Beliefs," and participants in the College's NSF In-service Institute in Sociology and Political Science. Gordon Stanton, Director of the NSF Institute and Assoc. Prof, of Education, will serve as chairman of the conference. 124 SENIORS FILE AS CANDIDATES FOR FALL GRADUATION "k ic ic One hundred and twenty-four seniors have filed graduation requirement checks to qualify for graduation at the end of the Fall Quarter in December, according to the Office of Admissions and Records. The graduating seniors will be eligible to participate in the Commencement exercises to be held in June, TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR CLOSING PERFORMANCES OF "THE CONSCIOUS LOVERS" Tickets are still available for the final presentations of "The Conscious Lovers." Performances are scheduled at 8:15 tonight and Saturday. Ticket reservations may be made by calling Ext Admission prices are $2 general and $1 students and children. STATE EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION FACT S BEETS ATTACHED Attached to this issue of the Bulletin are brochures containing facts about California State Employees Credit Union No. 11. Located in San Bernardino, the credit union is open to all current State employees or retired State employees within the boundaries of San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, Imperial(and a portion of Kern) counties. BOOK EXHIBIT NOW ON DISPLAY IN LIBRARY Award-winning books, cited for their craftsmanship and design, are now on display in the Library. The annual traveling exhibit of the Chicago Book Clinic is on the main floor lobby of the Library. The College community and the public are invited to view the 57 Top-Honor Books of the 1971 competition. The exhibit will run through December 10. 2

4 HOLIDAY GREETINGS VIA Holiday greetings may be exchanged by ail SCHOLARSHIP DONATIONS members of the College community by contributions to the Faculty Wives Scholarship URGED IN LIEU OF CARDS Fund. Instead of mailing greeting cards contributors will have their names listed on Holiday cards placed throughout the campus. The Faculty Wives are sponsoring the project for the third consecutive year to provide scholarships to qualified CSCSB students. Those wishing to participate should send donations as soon as possible to Mrs. Richard Saylor, 235 W. 55th St., San Bernardino, , NOON MUSICALE On Wednesday, November 24 the College Baroque Ensemble will present a program of baroque music PROGRAMS LISTED at noon in C-104. The program will include compositions by Handel, Fasch and Bach, performed by Rachel Jupe, oboe and harpsichord; Carol Dockstader, flute;dennis Dockstader, harpsichord; Rick Ohlendorf, oboe and Professor Glenn Litton, violin. On Wednesday, December 1, the college Madrigal Singers will present "Six Centuries of Christmas Carols" at noon in C-104. STAFF COUNCIL NAMES The following staff members have been SOCIAL, CULTURAL AFFAIRS appointed to serve on the Social and STANDING COMMITTEE Cultural Affairs Committee of the Staff Council: Loretta Campbell (Faculty Personnel Clerk), Jackie Green (Library), Cecilia Jacoban (Psychology) and Marianne Lowen (Placement & Financial Aid). \ Carol Goss (Political Science) spoke Saturday, November 13,at the luncheon meeting of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Teachers on "Political Attitudes and Sexual Stereotypes." Larry Kramer (English) presented apoetry reading, "Raw Milk," at an evening meeting of the Fontana Branch of the AAUW last Monday. William Slout (Drama) will serve as chairman of a panel on "Creativity in Acting" at the Western Speech Assn. Conference to be held in Fresno on November 23. Co-panelists will be actor Paul Brinegar and actress Ann B. Davis. Gordon Stanton (Education) and Lee Kalbus (Chemistry) are presenting a section at the National Science Teachers Assn. Western Regional Conference today at Anaheim. Topic is entitled "Have Science and Technology Become Social Problems?" Georqe Weiny (Phys. Ed.) presented a demonstration and talk on the history of skin diving and the development of SCUBA equipment- to the Bonnie Oehl Elementary School PTA father-and-son meeting. 3
