2 Department of Recreation and Parks Mission Statement OUR MISSION Our mission is to enrich the lives of the residents of Los Angeles by providing safe, welcoming parks and recreation facilities and affordable, diverse recreation and human services activities for people of all ages to play, learn, contemplate, build community and be good stewards of our environment. OUR VISION Our vision is to provide affordable recreational, physical and cultural opportunities for all of Los Angeles residents, with a focus on families, youth development and building healthy communities. The programs and services offered by the Department will provide excellent value and quality and emphasize the equitable distribution of resources throughout the City. We will offer these programs in safe, attractive and wellmaintained facilities that will reflect the publics needs and interests. Tuesday through Friday: 9:00 am - 10:00 am. 3:00pm 7:00 pm. Saturday: 9:00 am to 12 noon Enrollment will be limited to first come first served basis. Waiting list is available. Registration fee is non-refundable. Class/Activity fees will not be refunded unless class or activity is cancelled. FEES: We request that the full fee be paid at the time of registration. A $10 fee will be charged for verification of attendance, payment, etc. Payment by check, credit card (Visa or MasterCard), or money orders only. Make checks or money orders payable to: City of Los Angeles. A collection fee will be charged for each returned check. If paying by cash, please bring EXACT AMOUNT. We do not have change. Sports League requires a copy of the Child s Birth Certificate at registration. Personal insurance is needed. The City of Los Angeles does not provide insurance. Refund Policy: You may request a refund for a program before the program s schedules first day. A 20% administrative fee will be assessed by the recreation center for any patron granted a refund. Full refund will not by issued unless a class or sports league is cancelled by the center. Please allow 4-6 weeks for the processing of all refund requests.
