3 General Info VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED!! Who will be coaching my child? A VOLUNTEER!! The person coaching your child is not getting paid. We are always looking for a few good coaches. So if you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering please have them contact the Recreation Department. All coaches and assistant coaches must submit to a criminal background check. INCLEMENT WEATHER/RAIN OUT POLICY Any cancellations of practices or games due to weather will generally not be made until 4:00 p.m. of that day. We will make every effort to contact all the coaches if such an event occurs and you are welcome to call any of our facilities with questions. REFUNDS Prior to the beginning of an activity, refunds (less a 25% handling fee) will be given to individuals who present a written request to the Recreation Department office not later than five business days prior to the activity. Once an activity has begun, refunds (less 25% handling fee) will be issued ONLY in the event of an incapacitating illness or injury. The request for a refund must be accompanied by a doctor s written excuse. PAYMENT We accept payments in the form of cash, money orders or checks made payable to COWETA COUNTY RECREATION DEPARTMENT. REGISTRATION Advance registration is necessary for all activities and all requirements must be met prior to attending a class or activity. This includes fees that must be paid in person or mailed in to the Recreation Department. County residents shall have priority over non-county residents and may begin registering at least two weeks prior to the scheduled class or activity. Non-county residents may be subject to an out-of-county fee. Dates, times, and fees are subject to change without notification. CLASS CANCELLATION Program or class cancellation will result when an insufficient number of participants are enrolled in a particular activity. This number will be determined by the Coweta County Recreation Department. Those registered for a program or class that is cancelled will be notified and a full refund will be made. JOIN THE GYM Citizens of Coweta County may purchase a yearly membership to any one of our three gym locations. Memberships run from January 1st until December 31st and may be purchased anytime during the year. A family membership is $50 per year and an individual membership is $30 per year. Membership includes use of the weight room and basketball court. Anyone is welcome to use the gym without a membership and pay a $5 drop in fee per day. Call any of the three locations for more information. 1
