What is Pickleball? It's oversized ping pong! Pickleball is played on a badminton sized court with a tennis sized net. It's a paddle sport for all ages and all athletic ability levels. It has very simple rules and is easy to learn and play. Beginner s Contract Bridge Thursday nights, beginning April 16, 2015 Campbell County Citizen s Services Building-Staff Lounge 6:00 p.m-8:00 p.m. Fee: $20 per person or $30 per couple Instructor: Julie Rountrey This class is for ages 18 and up and will last for 8 weeks. What is Bridge? Contract bridge is a trick-taking game using a standard 52 card deck. It is played by four players in two competing partnerships, with partners sitting opposite each other around a table. Cultural Arts Refund Policy No refunds will be issued once the Cultural Arts class or program has begun. Cultural Arts Registration Deadlines All Cultural Arts classes and programs have a registration deadline of one week prior to the class/program start date unless otherwise specified. 2 Youth athletics Thursday, May 28, :00 p.m. Rustburg High School Track Cost: $5.00 per participant Deadline to register: Friday, May 22, 2015 Events Include: Standing Long Jump, 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 4x100 relay Age Groups (Boys & Girls): 1st/2nd Grade, 3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade Participants must wear running shorts, t-shirt and running shoes. Spring Break Track Camp Ages: 1 st - 6 th Grade Fee: $10.00 per participant Days: Monday through Friday Dates: April 6 th April 10 th Times: 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm Site: Rustburg Middle School Track Deadline to register: Friday, March 27, 2015 The Campbell County Recreation Department will hold an Elementary School Age Track Camp the week of Spring Break. Participants must wear running shorts, t-shirts and running shoes- no open toe shoes or bare feet. Participants will learn proper running form, basic techniques of the different track events (long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus, hurdles, 50 and 200 meters and relays). Participants must register at the Recreation Office. Mens Co-Ed Spring Softball Men s Church (Mondays beginning April 13) Men s Independent (Thursdays beginning April 16) Co-Ed (Tuesdays beginning April 14) Fees: $ per team($ refundable forfeit fee) Registration Dates: February 23, 2015-March 27, 2015 Team Limits: Independent-6; Church 6; Co-Ed 6 Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Fee includes balls provided by CCRD. To qualify in this league, at least one half of the team members must live or work in Campbell County. League rosters must accompany league fees. The team plays each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Yellow Branch Elementary School. This program inspires individual athletic strength encouraging players to develop friendships in a family oriented setting. This league is a volunteer program specifically for individuals ages 6 and up, who are intellectually and/or physically challenged.
