18 Clothing Sunday--Opening Convocation (no jeans or shorts) Monday--Business Casual (city pictures are taken) Business Casual--No jeans, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, or spaghetti straps Tuesday--Nationalist and Federalist Day you will receive a T- shirt for your political party (jeans are acceptable, no shorts) Wednesday--Red, White, and Blue Day (jeans are acceptable, no shorts) Thursday--School Spirit Day--Wear your school pride! (jeans and shorts acceptable) Thursday part 2--Inaugural Day--Dressy (i.e. nice dresses not short) Friday--Travel Day--(jeans are acceptable, no shorts) Skirts and dresses must be fingertip length or longer Jeans should not have tears or holes Bring navy dress pants, white shirt with collar, and white shoes (if you have them)

31 American Legion Auxiliary Girls Nation July, 2018 Extension of American Legion Auxiliary Badger Girls State Focuses on Federal Government Chevy Chase, Maryland Two girls from each state
32 Scholarships Samsung Scholarship Scholarship application online only and must be submitted by midnight on June 17, ALABGS delegates are encouraged to apply. Only those who complete the program will be considered. Alternates should also complete the application in the event that they are called to serve as the delegate. Must be direct descendants or legally adopted child of honorably discharged veterans of any war era. American Legion and Samsung have awarded over $2.5 million in scholarships. Application form
33 Scholarships ALABGS Scholarships Delegates that complete 2018 session will be sent an application after January 1, 2019 (6)$500 scholarships to 2018 delegates Other scholarships Ripon College-$4,000 scholarship to attendees of ALABGS (renewable for 4 years) Carthage College-$1,000 scholarship to attendees of ALABGS (renewable for 4 years) Mount Mary College-$500 scholarship to attendees of ALABGS (renewable for 4 years)

37 Wheelchairs If any ALABGS delegate has surgery or injury prior to the ALABGS session limiting their ability to walk, the parent/guardian must contact the Executive Director prior to the start of the session. Doing the required amount of walking with a cast or crutches (approximately 6 miles per day) may not be feasible. In this event, the parent/guardian must provide a wheelchair in good working order for the delegate to use during the entire week of attendance. ALABGS is not liable for any damages to the wheelchair or any other personal medical equipment brought to the session by parents/guardians or delegates.
