2 Welcome! Welcome to the 2017 Association of Community Health Nursing Educators Annual Institute. This year, we have an exciting program offering you a wealth of opportunities for professional renewal and personal enjoyment. Join us for outstanding presentations, inspiring speakers, informative workshops, and opportunities for networking and dialogue. Take time to connect with old friends and make new ones during the social activities. And, finally, enjoy the sights and sounds of Baltimore, Maryland! Purpose To provide community/public health nurses in practice, education, and research an environment to continue their career development while developing and refining their knowledge, skills, and abilities in leadership. By applying strategies to influence and change public health nursing practice and education, leaders learn to promote population health and advocate for interprofessional networking that clarifies the needs of global health and a nationwide culture of health. Leaders learn the importance of participating locally and globally to influence healthy public policy agendas. Intended Audience Public health nurses, public health and community health nursing educators, public health leaders, and students and partners interested in public health, health equity, population health, and other public health issues. Conference Objectives 1. Explore methods to participate, promote, and develop a national public health nursing education and healthy public policy agenda to influence future health care delivery 2. Examine processes and approaches for engaging in local, regional, national advocacy to promote public health nursing education and the role in population health 3. Develop communication and decision making strategies for managing change for benefits of students,, community and populations. 4. Engage in collaboration and interprofessional networking to promote health in global communities and the public health nursing workforce 5. Evaluate the role of mentoring in career management 6. Assess processes for becoming involved in local, state, national and international taskforces, committees, and boards to influence change.
