2 Orlando L I V E Endoscopy Course Directors Dr. Shyam Varadarajulu Dr. Robert Hawes Organizing Faculty Dr. Muhammad Hasan Dr. Udayakumar Navaneethan Dr. Ji Young Bang Symposium Overview The Center for Interventional Endoscopy (CIE) is pleased to present the Orlando Live Endoscopy symposium, which will have five key components to provide delegates a comprehensive education in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. Demonstrations will be performed by international experts at Florida Hospital Orlando and will be transmitted live. Our goal is to highlight the latest developments in endoscopic approaches to gastrointestinal and pancreaticobiliary diseases. Cuttingedge techniques and the latest technology will be demonstrated in a practical manner to enable participants to incorporate this experience into their daily clinical practice. A major focus of the demonstrations will be on when-to-do and how-to-do. Live procedures will cover five major techniques: 1. ERCP 2. Tissue Resection 3. Third-Space Endoscopy 4. Diagnostic and Interventional EUS 5. Luminal therapies (hemostasis, strictures and acid-reflux). Didactic Sessions Our aim is to create an ideal learning atmosphere where delegates can interact with expert faculty and gain first-hand knowledge in specific areas of interest. Fourteen breakfast sessions have been organized where teaching will be case-based, practical and technique-oriented. Additionally, key topics will be covered in lectures, which will be followed by a live Q & A session. Panel discussions will include the deliberation of interesting cases with the active participation of delegates. Luncheon literature update sessions will outline important research that may impact clinical practice. A handbook that covers key technical aspects, such as cautery settings, choice of accessories, technical tips and other important facets in the practice of endoscopy, will be provided to all delegates. 2

3 Symposium Overview Satellite Symposiums Industry sponsored satellite symposiums will be held on the evenings of August 29 and 30. s will include international and national faculty members who will speak on new endoscopic developments and how they can impact your clinical practice. Self-Assessment Interesting videos and cases will be presented by the course directors in a quiz format to enable participants to self-evaluate their knowledge of endoscopy. Hands-On Workshop The objective of this workshop is to not only teach new techniques, but refine existing practices in order to provide delegates with a comprehensive experience. The workshop will also include didactic lectures that focus mainly on techniques and safe practices. Key areas that will be covered include: EUS-Guided Tissue Acquisition Lumen-Apposing Metal Stent Placement Celiac Plexus Interventions and Fiducial Placement Biliary Cannulation Biliary Interventions: Cannulation, Sphinterotomy, Stenting Ampullectomy Tissue Resection Tunneling Tissue Ablation: RFA, Cryotherapy Hemostasis Perforation Closure Learning Objectives Evaluate recent innovations in endoscopy, assess their clinical utility and effectiveness. Demonstrate new procedural techniques and accessories, and compare their performance with the current standard-of-care. Manage endoscopy disease-related and procedural adverse events. Learn the evidence-based approach to endoscopic management of diseases. Know the importance of interdisciplinary approach to patient management. 3
