3 Objectives Inspire Success 1. Identify strategies to reduce the work of breathing for patients receiving mechanical ventilation. 2. Attendees will be familiar with the newer aspects and trends of respiratory care science as it applies to neonates. 3. To inform the audience of the importance of prior preparation for potential disasters. 4. Offer insight to the emergent infectious disease processes present in our society today. 5. Demonstrate some of the National, State, and Local resources that come into play during a disaster. 6. Describe interstitial lung disease. 7. Define the prevalence of interstitial lung disease. 8. List many of the 200+ disorders that can be linked to interstitial lung disease. 9. Review the three phases of interstitial lung disease 10. Understand the anatomical alterations of interstitial lung disease. 11. Discuss the end stage of interstitial lung disease 12. Review prevalence, etiology, and impact of sleep disordered breathing (SDB). 13. Discuss the various forms of therapy available for patients identified with OSA, CSA, and respiratory insufficiencies. 14. Explain the different PAP acronyms from the various manufactures. 15. Determine how to match the patient s disease process to the correct PAP Device. 16. Discuss how fractional exhaled testing can aid in the diagnosis of asthma and identifies patients with T2 allergic inflammatory phenotype. 17. Review how fractional exhaled testing is an instrument for optimizing the dose of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and can uncover non adherence to ICS. 18. Discuss how fractional exhaled testing can reduce the likelihood of exacerbations in patients at risk for future events. 19. Review how fractional exhaled testing can help to identify asthmatics who are possible candidates for treatment with a biologic. 20. Describe historical and current trends in surfactant administration. 21. Describe future trends in surfactant administration. 22. Describe how respiratory failure is the most common cause of pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest and how early recognition and timely resuscitation/stabilization can greatly improve chances for survival. 23. Therapists will be familiar with the new emerging respiratory therapy drugs on the market. 24. To discuss common respiratory conditions in companion animal medicine including those with public health implications, and to compare respiratory therapeutic strategies between veterinary and human healthcare. 25. Explain the nicotine addiction and its effects on the human body. 26. Attendees will be familiar with the application of nasal high flow in the adult and pediatric population and the literature supporting its use. This year s tournament will be played at the #1 public course in the state of Kansas, Colbert Hills. The cost for the tournament is $65.00; which includes green fees and a cart. Raffle prizes will be awarded throughout the lunch break. 19:30-21:30 Photo Scavenger Hunt Pub Crawl in Aggieville Randomized teams are given a list of bars/venues to visit, a photo hunt and challenge list. Photos (tasteful) are loaded up to a single KRCS Facebook post. Team with the most likes receives a prize. Consumption of alcohol is not required to participate. Continuing Education This program is approved for 12 hours (7 on Thursday and 5 on ) of Live Kansas CEU Credit. All 12 hours will count as live CEUs by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. Approval is pending for 10 CRCE by the AARC. All participants are required to sign-in for each morning and afternoon session and can pick up certificates of attendance at the conclusion of the seminar. Prorated education hours may be obtained each day for those participants leaving prior to the end of the conference.
