1 Annexure to the Annua Report on CSR activities The core eements of CSR activities continue to incude ethica functioning, respect for a stake-hoders, protection of human rights and care for the environment. The Company ( BAL or Bajaj Auto ) and Bajaj Group generay impement the above initiatives directy and/or through its Group NGOs/Charitabe entities operating at various ocations in the country. It aso enists the hep of non-group NGOs, oca authorities, business associations, socia and phianthropic organisations of repute and civi society, wherever deemed necessary. Major CSR activities undertaken by Bajaj Auto directy are given in the Annua Report on CSR activities. In addition, some of the other major initiatives that continued and/or that were taken up anew directy or indirecty during the year under review are summarised beow: A) By Bajaj Auto CSR donations under section 135 (Schedue VII) of the Companies Act, 2013 Bajaj Group has undertaken various phianthropic and socia work, besides providing financia support to many worthy causes, detais of which are given in the Annua Report on CSR activities. 2 Affirmative action Bajaj Auto continues to beieve that its success is interinked with the we-being of a sections of the society and equa opportunity for a sections. To that extent, it continues to ensure no discrimination of any type of sociay disadvantaged sections in the work pace. During the year under review, your Company recruited 1,562 new empoyees, of which 125 (8%) beong to weaker sections. At the end of the year, this percentage was 6.7%. Education Under Pubic Private Partnership (PPP), your Company has undertaken to upgrade 5 Industria Training Institutes (ITI) two in Pune, two in Pantnagar and one in Aurangabad. Bajaj Auto took steps to ensure better quaity of output from the Institutes. Strength went up as under: Previous strength ITI Year No. Current (2014) Ramnagar, Pantnagar Kie Arch, Aurangabad Mushi, Pune Havei, Pune Amora, Uttarakhand (New) 13 Heath Government of India - Ministry of Heath and Famiy Wefare - Department of AIDS Contro (DAC) and CII have initiated Pubic Private Partnership (PPP) in order to provide better heath-care to AIDS patients. From August 2008, the Bajaj YCMH ART Centre at YCM hospita, Pimpri, has registered 12,076 patients with 5,320 active cases for Anti Retro-vira Therapy. This centre is a benchmark for new Centers and is the argest one run by industries. In view of the exceptiona quaity of performance, MSACS (Maharashtra State AIDS Contro Society) awarded a Certificate of appreciation to Bajaj YCMH ART Centre, recognising its exceent performance in HIV care. Others Bood Donation: Bood Donation is a major service to humankind. Our factory empoyees organised bood donation camps, in which 885 empoyees enthusiasticay participated and donated bood for the hospitas in the respective areas. Safety and Disaster Management: The fire department vehices made as many as 33 fire cas outside the pants for firefighting and rescue operations during the year. Book Donation Drive: Your Company undertook a drive, i.e. 'Donate a Book', coected 2,000 od/new books from the empoyees of Bajaj Auto at Akurdi Pant, and distributed those among eeven schoos in various viages adopted by Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha (JBGVS). Empoyees vounteered in a big way. 2

3 B) Through group trusts 1. Jamnaa Bajaj Seva Trust Soon after the demise of Shri Jamnaaji Bajaj in 1942, as per his wishes, the first charitabe Trust, Jamnaa Bajaj Seva Trust was estabished with an initia corpus of B 500,000 which was, Jamnaaji s entire share in the famiy weath. Internationa Sarvodaya Centre - Vishwaneedam In 1960, at the suggestion of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, the Trust purchased about 400 acres of and on the outskirts of Bangaore to estabish an Internationa Sarvodaya Centre - Vishwaneedam for promoting agricuture, dairy deveopment, rura deveopment and training oca women and youth for sef-empoyment by providing them training in the fied of Taioring, Computers, and Knitting. The Trust continued running Bawadis, Gaushaa and Engish Speaking courses. Kamanayan Bajaj Ha and Art Gaery The Trust has aso been contributing to the promotion of arts and cuture through Kamanayan Bajaj Ha and Art Gaery. Exhibition, handicrafts dispay as we as corporate meetings, conferences and seminars are common activities inside the Kamanayan Bajaj Ha. The art gaery is used to dispay the artistic works of painters and scuptors. The art gaery aso provides an opportunity to budding artists to showcase their taents. Bawadi Bawadi is a pre-schoo, where under-privieged chidren are taught by trained teachers. The Trust continued running 9 Bawadis i.e. Ba Sanskar Kendra in rura areas of Wardha District for poor chidren beow six years of age. Hamaara Sapna project 'Hamaara Sapna' project, initiated by the Trust, endeavours to upift the sum residents of South Mumbai. The project invoves imparting ski training aongwith overa knowedge and hands on experience to foster a better tomorrow. Key roe of the projects is: To transform the ives of women beneficiaries residing in the sums of South Mumbai, through the appication of three Es: Education, Empowerment and Entrepreneurship To create an effective and vauabe attitudina change To foster the aspirations of women To encourage and impement ski enhancement, iveihood and intervention programmes To provide a patform to conduct sma scae enterprise To emphasise equa access for one and a. 2. Jamnaa Bajaj Foundation In 1976, the Jamnaa Bajaj Foundation was estabished for promoting Gandhian constructive programmes and assisting constructive workers who devoted themseves to the nationa cause. 3

4 Awards The Foundation gives 4 Awards annuay - each of the vaue of B10 akh. Of these, three are given to individuas in India: For outstanding contribution in the fieds of constructive work on Gandhian ines. For Appication of science and technoogy for rura deveopment. For upift and wefare of women and chidren. One Internationa Award is given to individuas other than Indian citizens from foreign countries for their contribution to the promotion of Gandhian vaues outside India. Other charitabe activities The Foundation has given donations to various Institutions/NGOs from time to time for strengthening their various community wefare activities and charitabe objects of wefare of genera pubic utiity based on Gandhian phiosophy and ideas. 3. Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha (JBGVS) Your Company continued its rura and urban deveopment activities through JBGVS in 84 viages in Maharashtra, Sikar district of Rajasthan and in Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. These activities have touched the ives of 67,500 peope iving in rura areas, mosty from economicay weaker sections of the society, that consist of peope from schedued castes, schedued tribes, nomadic tribes, and other backward casses. JBGVS programmes covered 80% peope from economicay weak and sociay backward communities. Rura Deveopment activities JBGVS impements integrated rura deveopment project in partnership with viagers, gram panchayats and other viage eve institutions ike co-operative dairy, women sef-hep groups etc. broady in five aspects, viz. a) Primary education b) Primary heath-care c) Economic deveopment d) Environment, and e) Socia deveopment JBGVS pays catayst roe. We beieve that the viagers themseves shoud be the architects of their deveopment and participate in sustainabe rura deveopment. JBGVS brings together the viagers, oca institutions and aso the Government agencies. During the year, JBGVS co-partnered 28,880 BPL and poor famiies and 21,063 SC/ST/NT/OBC famiies. a) Primary Education Infrastructure Deveopment JBGVS supports repairing of cass rooms and providing furniture and teaching aids. 143 schoo rooms have been repaired and 71 schoo sanitation compexes repaired/renovated. Leaking roofs in 13 schoos have been repaired with high-tech water-proofing tech in Sikar. 162 benches were provided to various schoos. 6 kitchen sheds have been constructed to faciitate 300 students of Sikar schoos to have mid-day mea. E-earning 567 e-earning units have been instaed in a the areas. The attendance in schoos has increased remarkaby, the teacher-student interaction has gone up to an impressive eve and the students have gained adequate confidence to use a computer. The eve of assimiation has tremendousy gone up, thereby increasing the standard of earning. The equipment is aso being used by women groups and farmers for the education of socia and agricutura subjects. 4

5 Mode Schoo-Kasha It is a remarkabe exampe of interdependence of education, economic, environmenta and socia deveopment of a viage. Kasha was in compete disarray. After JBGVS entered, they activey participated in eecting a schoo management committee and aongwith teachers, constructed compound wa, kitchen shed, two schoo rooms, separate toiets for girs and boys, a computer ab, payground, a stage and provided benches. One e-earning system and ibrary has been estabished, whie number of trees have been panted and kitchen garden deveoped. Bock eve sports tournaments are being conducted in the schoo. The girs team participated in kabaddi tournaments and got second prize at district eve. It has bagged ISO 2009 certification. The schoo of 110 students with casses upto seventh is now a mode schoo, where other viagers come and visit. Magic Bus Programme The programme aims at bringing positive changes in behaviour and attitudes of rura chidren and their parents in the areas of education, heath and gender issues through use of sporting activities. In the year, more than 1,500 chidren from 11 viages have registered and are participating reguary in this sports-cum-activity based curricuum. This programme has heped in buiding confidence amongst chidren, particuary the girs. b) Primary Heath-care JBGVS foows the phiosophy Prevention is better than cure. The programmes, i.e. Mother and Chid Heath-care, Heath check-up camps, mobie cinic service, hygiene and sanitation programmes etc. were organised in active participation with the viagers. JBGVS trains oca women as heath workers. On the hundredth birth anniversary of Shri. Kamanayanji Bajaj, JBGVS constructed 1,300 individua toiets, ensured that every schoo has a sanitation compex separatey for boys and girs and panted 40,000 trees. As a tribute to Shri Jamnaaji Bajaj on his one hundred twenty fifth birth anniversary, his birth pace Kashi ka bas in Sikar district has been made free of open defecation in one year s time by constructing famiy toiets. c) Economic Deveopment To make up for inadequacy in agricutura income the peope now ook for suppementary source of income. JBGVS supported the farmers in modern agricutura and horticutura practices, sma irrigation systems, organic agricuture, dairy, goatry etc. 595 goats,165 cows and 90 buffaoes have been given to BPL/EWS famiies. This endeavour wi generate B 2.50 crore per year. The Aamrai project of horticuture continues. d) Environment JBGVS has undertaken a Water and Soi Conservation programme in Aurangabad and Wardha districts. 60,000 cum. water storage capacity in 15 viages heping 3,600 famiies has been created in We pan to participate in prestigious Jayukta Shivar Abhiyan to make drought-free Maharashtra. e) Socia Deveopment Leadership buiding of oca youth 24 youth with diverse backgrounds ike socia work, engineering, education etc. from Aurangabad and Wardha districts were trained at Raegaon Siddhi for 5 days under the guidance of Shri Anna Hazare. They are now monitoring a the deveopmenta work carried out by JBGVS, Government or the viagers themseves. That incudes work for water conservation, irrigation, schoo deveopment, environmenta protection and deveopment. Urban Deveopment activities Samaj Seva Kendras (SSK) at Pune and Aurangabad are the urban deveopment wings of JBGVS with 1,600 famiy members. SSK provides faciities for sef-deveopment of the residents and particuary women and chidren of Akurdi, Nigdi in Pune and Bajajnagar at Wauj, Aurangabad. 5

6 Various types of programmes ike pre-primary cass, babhavan, iteracy, taioring, yoga, karate, taba and harmonium, cassica and western dance, senior citizen programmes etc. were carried out. Awareness programmes on ceaniness, heath and nutrition, breast cancer, HIV/AIDS were organised. Specia programmes ike medica check-up, study tour etc. are being organised for senior citizens. Women empowerment programme was conducted in Kamgar Kayan Kendra, Bajajnagar, Aurangabad in which 74 women participated. Diwai exhibitions were hed at both the paces with 40 stas. The tota sae was about B 4.5 akh 4. Shiksha Manda Shiksha Manda was estabished in the year 1915 by Shri Jamnaaji Bajaj and Shri Krishnadasji Jaju. Since inception, this organisation was inspired by nationaist thoughts. In the year 1937, a Nationa Education Summit was hed in the organisation under the state chairmanship of Mahatma Gandhiji. Through this summit ony, Gandhiji envisaged and dreamt of a New Education System for the whoe of India. He aid the foundation and provided the broad framework of the New Education System for the whoe nation. After this, the new education system was foowed in different parts of India. The Commerce Coege which was estabished in the year 1940 was managed by this organisation. Late Shri Shriman Narayan was the first Principa of this coege. Taking inspiration from Gandhiji, many of the commerce subjects were taught in Hindi (mother tongue) for the first time in India. Shiksha Manda has payed a pivota roe in the Vidarbha region. Many students from these coeges and universities estabished by Shiksha Manda have made a name for themseves in their respective fieds and areas. 5. Gandhi Gyan Mandir Bajaj Science Centre Situated just opposite Bajajwadi, Gandhi Gyan Mandir houses a rich ibrary of Gandhian Literature, studies and research and an auditorium. The Gandhi Gyan Mandir organises ectures, seminars and discussions from time to time. The Foundation stone of the Gandhi Gyan Mandir was aid by the then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad in It was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Pandit Jawahara Nehru in Bajaj Science Centre by Gandhi Gyan Mandir was set up in 2008 to insti a passion for science and innovation in young minds; and through this, enabe them to become tomorrow's visionaries of science and technoogy. With emphasis on hands-on experimentation, it is a pace to think and a pace to do. Starting with 40 students, sq.m (1,500 sq.ft.) of space, 4 teachers and an investment of B 200,000 it now has around 400 students and is housed in a designer 3,065 sq.m. (33,000 sq.ft.) compex with exceent aboratories buit at a cost of B 5.64 crore. The Centre is aso a training ground for science schoo teachers from Vidarbha. 6. Gandhi Vichar Parishad The Institute of Gandhian Studies (Gandhi Vichar Parishad) is an educationa and pubic charitabe institution that has been set-up as one of the commemorative projects of Jamnaa Bajaj Centenary Year. It was estabished at Wardha on October The object of the Institute is to promote, sponsor and undertake the study of the ife and thought of Mahatma Gandhi as we as the predecessors of Gandhi, and contemporary thinkers and socia revoutionaries. Late Shri Ravindra Varma, freedom fighter, Gandhian activist and we known schoar, was the founder Chairman of this Institute. The estabishment of the Institute was the resut of vision and work of Shri Ravindra Varma, aongwith the active interest and fu support of Late Shri Ramkrishna Bajaj, the then Chairman of Jamnaa Bajaj Foundation. During the ast twenty five years, the Institute has succeeded in estabishing a high reputation for the variety of the courses of studies it offers and for its uniqueness and academic exceence. It is now accaimed as an outstanding institution by the academic community thinkers, activists, trade unions, youth students, Gandhian workers and traditiona organisations engaged in Gandhian work. 6

7 7. Marathwada Medica and Research Institute (MMRI) a trust Bajaj group gives substantia support to this trust that runs Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita and Kamanayan Bajaj Nursing Coege for B.Sc. Nursing degree and post basic B. Sc. Nursing Courses. Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita is ocated in the city of Aurangabad in Marathwada region in the State of Maharashtra. With its 250 bed capacity, it provides super speciaty and tertiary care medica faciities; not avaiabe esewhere in this region. For avaiing such high-end faciities, earier peope had to trave a the way to Pune/Mumbai at great cost and inconvenience. Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita brings the tradition and experience of 25 years in deivering affordabe heathcare services in a patient-friendy environment with a strong system embedded in ethica and transparent medica practice. The hospita s faciities have been speciay designed to be caming and comfortabe, in view of the anxieties of hospita stay. With the recent additions and up-gradations in the medica faciities at the Hospita, it is weequipped in Cardioogy (highest number of Angiopasties and bypass surgeries in Marathwada), Cardiac surgery (ony center for minimay invasive cardiac surgery in the region), LASIK (Most advanced aser technoogy in the word, first in India), Nucear medicine (first and ony PET center in Marathwada, third in India), Radiation Oncoogy (200 Cancer patients treated daiy), Uroogy (1,000 kidney transpants), Laparoscopy (advanced aparoscopic and thoracoscopic Cancer Surgery), Coorecta Surgery (100 cases a day), Joint repacement and Trauma, and ICU (recognised by ISCCM). Hospita has provided reief to around 86,700 patients in OPD and cose to 14,569 inpatients, who were admitted to hospita for various treatments during Hospita aso has an intensive care unit (30 beds) and cardiac care unit (16 beds) functioning with high efficiency and idea care. The entire region has benefitted and has gained confidence in the treatment reated to Heat, Cancer, Kidney, Uroogy, Trauma and newer technoogy based super speciaities. Hospita aso runs programme of providing reief to Beow Poverty Line (BPL) and Economicay Weaker Section (EWS) of the society. Whie the treatment for BPL patients is free, for EWS, it is subsidised to the extent of 50%. Ti date, the benefit of this scheme is extended to 11,432 patients and B 4.37 crore (approx.) spent on it. Hospita is coaborating with JBGVS (Jankidevi Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha) and Government authorities to hod camps in the viages of the district of Aurangabad, to identify BPL patients, who need treatment and woud otherwise not come to take treatment to Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita. This programme fufis the need of the poor and deprived section of society and does justice to the Charity initiatives of donors and trustees by providing highest quaity medica care in super speciaties. Apart from the above activities, hospita aso organised 32 free camps invoving 104 surgeries (102 in cataract, and 2 in Lasik), and 4,660 patients, viz., 3 Cataract camps (365 patients), 1 Orthopedic tota hip and knee repacement camp (232 patients), 1 Bone density camp (70 patients), 1 heath camp for staff and famiy (58 patients), 2 2D Echo Camps (275 patients), 21 Rajiv Gandhi Jeevandayee Arogya Yojana (RGJAY) camps (3,335 patients) and 1 Endurance Heath Check-up Camp (200 patients). Hospita is aso enroed with Centra Government Scheme of RGJAY. Though the expenses paid for treatment are very minimum, hospita is taking care of additiona expenses. Since this scheme is run for BPL patients and ower midde cass (EWS), the trust objectives of treating these patients is fufied under RGJAY. So far, we have treated 11,805 patients and incurred B 1.03 crore expenditure under RGJAY scheme, which aows this category of patients to get medica advice free, to achieve more productive and positive ife. 7

8 Engineering exceence has been the forte of Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita. We have got Nationa Energy Conservation Award in the year 2012 in the category of Best Hospita. The hospita s endeavour in the years to come is to ensure that the hospita emerges as a centre of exceence for affordabe medica faciities and engages itsef to provide hoistic heathcare services in Marathwada. Kamanayan Bajaj Nursing Coege (KBNC) Kamanayan Bajaj Hospita has been facing the paucity of nursing staff both in terms of quaity and quantity and therefore, it has sought the permission to start Kamanayan Bajaj Nursing Coege under MMRI Trust. Today, we have one of the most modern Nursing Coeges across the country. Due to the ethica work and vaues set by the Bajaj Famiy, the nursing coege never found scarcity of students, which is the case with most Nursing Coeges in the country. Credit aso goes to the dedicated facuties, who have created an atmosphere of high academic achievements as we as operationa exceence. The first batch of Nursing Coege students have graduated this year and begun working as vauabe and dependabe staff at the hospita, providing unmatched quaity nursing care to patients. It is hoped that with vaue based high quaity education provided at Kamanayan Bajaj Nursing Coege, the students coming out from this institution wi continue to set an exampe in the fied of Nursing in the days to come. The aim of the Nursing Coege is to hep the underprivieged chidren to get high quaity nursing education and provide services to the society. Present number of students is 160. MMRI trust extends schoarship to poor and needy students who are meritorious and deserving. 8. Fuji Guruji Memoria Trust Fuji Guruji Memoria Trust has estabished Buddha Mandir, Vishwa Shanti Stupa at Wardha for promotion of thoughts and teachings of Lord Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi and other preachers preaching same or simiar ideoogy and to propagate the message of word peace, ove, nonvioence and equaity of a reigions. The Trust continued running 5 Bawadis i.e Ba Sanskar Kendra in rura areas of Wardha District for poor chidren beow six years of age. 9. Kamanayan Bajaj Charitabe Trust Kamanayan Bajaj Charitabe Trust runs Gitai Mandir, Pujya Jamnaa Bajaj Exhibition and Vinoba Darshan Compex, Audio-video Ha at Wardha. It aso runs a ibrary with iterature and books on Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave, Jamnaa Bajaj, Smt. Jankidevi Bajaj and other freedom fighters. The Gitai Mandir was inaugurated by Vinobaji on 7 October The fiftieth anniversary of the competion of the writing of Gitai was recenty ceebrated. It stands on 36 acres of and at the site of Jamnaaji s Samadhi in Gopuri, Wardha. A unique monument, it has no ido, sanctum-sanctorum or even a roof. It is encosed by granite sabs. Each sab has a shoka inscribed on it, covering a the 18 chapters of the Gitai. 10. Gita Pratisthan Gita Pratisthan was estabished for propagating the message of the Gita and its marathi version, Gitai which was rendered by Vinobaji in the year 1930 and pubished for the first time by Jamnaaji. Since then, the Pratisthan has been conducting a scheme of examinations on different chapters of the Gita and Gitai for primary and high schoo students. 8

9 Genera In addition to the above, the Group has around 40 Pubic Charitabe Trusts, which are aso engaged in many topica and sociay reevant CSR activities and initiatives by donating to worthy organisations. To that extent, the narrative given above is not exhaustive. It is ony iustrative to give a gimpse of the importance being given by Bajaj Auto and the Group towards its Socia Responsibiities.
