BLAD, CEO RC Hospita & Cinics There are severa new and exciting changes transpiring at RC Hospita & Cinics, incuding the aunch of robotic surgery, the hiring of new providers, and the addition of tota hip repacement surgery. There have aso been some high-profie demoition projects as we. At the time of writing, the od hospita has been competey eveed, with genera site work remaining. As you may reca, the costs of renovating the od faciity for use were unsustainabe; precipitating the need for the construction of the new Medica Center. Those same costs proved a significant barrier to prospective purchasers as we hence the decision to demoish the buiding. Once the demoition is competed, Renvie County wi turn over the property to the City of Oivia for future economic deveopment in ieu of significant infrastructure improvements during the Medica Center construction. There has aso been savage work competed at the new Medica Center campus as we. This past winter, the RC Hospita & Cinics paid $366,000 to acquire the former Pamer Bus buiding ocated immediatey west of the new Medica Center (adjoining existing hospita property). The acquisition incuded 3.7 acres of commercia highway frontage and an additiona 3.2 acres of farmand to the east. RC Hospita & Cinics procured the site to ensure the deveopment of a cohesive medica campus fied with services which support the heathcare of our communities. One such service under deveopment is construction of a new drive-through pharmacy ocated on the west end of the former Pamer Bus property. In fact, the County EDA entered into a purchase agreement to se a one-acre ot of highway frontage for $150,000 pending the remova of the buiding. RC Hospita & Cinics hired Haney Construction to ensure the remova of the buiding and associated footings cearing a space for future projects such as the pharmacy. As you can see, we don t stand sti at RC Hospita & Cinics. She was born and raised in Litchfied, MN, and graduated from Litchfied High Schoo. She and her sibings were very active growing up participating in high schoo sports. She, her brother and her sister were a the recipients of the Hengster/Ranweier Award. The award I enjoy taking care of is given to the outstanding mae and femae three-sport the whoe famiy and I athete in west centra Minnesota. am passionate about She went on to earn her degree in Bioogy with minors famiy medicine. in Chemistry and Math at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD. She payed four years of D2 coege Carin Martinson, MD basketba, one year of gof and one year of softba for the Woves. She continued her studies at University of South Dakota in Vermiion where she acquired her medica degree. She is a Board Certified Famiy Practice Doctor with Obstetrics and she performs C-sections. Dr. Martinson stated I enjoy taking care of the whoe famiy and I am passionate about famiy medicine. Dr. Martinson and her husband, Justin, have recenty moved to Renvie County with their three chidren. They have one daughter, Ericka who is seven years od and twins, Jadin and Jakob who are five. As a famiy they enjoy being outdoors, and being on the water, fishing and camping. This summer the kids have been active in soccer, baseba and finishing up swimming essons. 3 Heathy Way 3 Growing Our Own Tiffany Tersteeg, FNP-C and Kesey Fischer, FNP-C Tiffany Tersteeg grew up on a famiy farm near Oivia graduating from BOLD in She earned her BS and then her Associates Degree in Nursing. Whie working as a RN, Tiffany continued her education to become a certified Famiy Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, icensed by the state of Minnesota. Nursing became a strong interest for Tiffany when her father was batting coon cancer and congestive heart faiure. This, aong with a very supportive famiy encouraging her to set goas and foow her dreams compeed her to further her heath care education. She beieves in Tiffany Tersteeg, FNP-C promoting a heathy community by taking the time to isten and understand each patient s individua needs. Specia interests incude diabetes management and acute care cinic management. Tiffany is ooking forward to serving her oca community. Kesey Fischer, FNP-C Born and raised in Bird Isand, Kesey Fischer is a BOLD High Schoo graduate. She went to Ridgewater Coege and earned her RN degree. After gaining vauabe experience as an RN, Kesey continued her studies and became a Nurse Practitioner. She has been a provider at RC Hospita & Cinics for the past two years. Her specia interests incude: pediatrics, famiy care and minor surgica procedures. Kesey and her husband, Matt, have two chidren and ive in Oivia. Growing Our Own RC Hospita Foundation 2017 Schoarship Winners Emiy Fizen RCW graduate Emiy pans on attending University of MN Morris this fa to continue her studies in Pre-Med. Her goa is to become a Physician Assistant speciaizing in the care and heath of women and babies. She pans on returning to Renvie County to serve the area she grew up in. Kaityn Kottke BLHS graduate Kaityn Kottke pans on attending the University of MN-Rochester to obtain a Bacheor of Heath Sciences degree, then transferring to the University of MN-Twin Cities to obtain a doctora degree in medicine and speciaize in pediatrics. Sarah Mehhouse BOLD graduate Sarah is we on her way to a BSN in Nursing at Concordia Coege in Moorhead, MN. After graduating from Concordia, Sarah pans to pursue an advanced practice nursing degree as a nurse practitioner. Eventuay, she wants to come back to her hometown of Oivia to raise a famiy and work at RC Hospita & Cinics. Libby Revier, Chair of the Foundation stated RC Hospita & Cinic's has been a eader in offering state of the art equipment. Sater, MD, FACS performs coonoscopies at RC Hospita. Coonoscopies hep detect coon cancer. One in every 20 Americans wi deveop coon cancer, and coonoscopies are the most effective means of prevention, diagnosis and treatment. No other coon cancer screening is as thorough and comprehensive.
