These incude outpatient assessments, diagnostic tests (incuding imaging, cardiac diagnostics and endoscopy), routine day-case and short stay inpatient surgery, and medica treatments and therapies - deivered ocay in Bexey. 2 Expert services Our aim is to provide greater avaiabiity of a range of high quaity panned heath services, deivered by our speciaist teams working together to provide compassionate care to our patients. Our Panned Care Centre Surgica Services Our surgica services form part of our Panned Care Centre at Queen Mary s Hospita which are ocated on the 4th foor in the Main Buiding and offer patients panned routine surgery in a range of speciaities such as Breast Surgery, Genera Surgery, Gynaecoogica Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Chronic Pain More speciaities We have increased the choice of outpatient cinics and inpatient procedures; and more surgery is offered on a day-case basis so patients have faster access to our services. Surgica care centred on our patients Management, Urogynaecoogica Surgery and Uroogy Surgery. These services are further supported by our speciaist nurses and other aied staff. Our surgica services are staffed by nurses and other speciaised practitioners who have extensive experience in caring for patient s medica and surgica needs Thanks to advances in medica technoogy, many procedures are now performed on an outpatient day-case basis so that patients can go home on the same day Patients requiring surgery wi be seen in the pre-assessment cinic on the 1st foor, and daiy during their stay Surgery registration takes pace in our Surgica Admissions Lounge in Mottingham Ward at the Panned Care Centre on the 4th foor in the Main Buiding At present, our Panned Care Centre can care for patients aged 16 years who we expect are abe to eave the same day or after an overnight stay. Those who may need an intensive care bed after their operation wi be offered their care at Darent Vaey Hospita in Dartford ony A supporting team of physiotherapists and therapists ook after any additiona needs for our patients Our Panned Care Centre has 37 surgica beds across two ward areas. After surgery, patients return to Avery Hi Ward on the 4th foor in the Main Buiding for recovery and inpatients are admitted overnight for extended care. Exceence in Panned Care The Trust has embedded the Enhanced Recovery Programme into its everyday practice to focus on improving patient outcomes, speeding up recovery and decreasing ength of stay after surgery. ORTHOPAEDICS We provide orthopaedic treatment at our Panned Care Centre for both upper and ower imb surgery. Patients wi be abe to have their diagnosis, pre-assessment, treatment and recovery here where they wi have the expertise of the Trust s best Trauma and Orthopaedic staff offering expert care. 3 GENERAL SURGERY Surgery is performed by our experienced speciaists and surgeons to treat the fu range of non-compex genera surgery provide around the cock care so that patients receive eary rehabiitation post-surgery to return home in ine with the expected enhanced recovery programme. On discharge, patients move on to our outpatient team if required, for ongoing rehabiitation and/or treatment. Our physiotherapists aso support patients who require post-operative care after day surgery, such as for a shouder decompression or rotator cuff repair, to provide assessment and expert recommendations for ongoing outpatient physiotherapy. procedures. Endoscopic evauation and surgica treatment of upper gastrointestina and sma bowe disorders are provided by the Trust at the Endoscopy Centre in the Newand Buiding as part of our Panned Care Centre. Opening hours are: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and The unit does not operate on a Tuesday. Many conditions are diagnosed and treated with endoscopy which offers patients the benefit of smaer incisions, resuting in a shortened hospita stay and recovery period. 4 Our Panned Care Centre at Queen Mary s Hospita has the advantage of not being an emergency site and so doesn t have the same pressures as the acute hospitas ocay. This means that patients rarey have their operations canceed and have a more stabe, quieter environment during their recovery phase with ess time spent in hospita. Queen Mary s Hospita aso offers exceent transport inks making it easier for patients and their famiies to trave to and from the site. CHRONIC PAIN As part of our services at our Panned Care Centre at Queen Mary s Hospita we have a pain service for assessment and possibe pain management. This incudes the management of patients with chronic pain probems which typicay incude back pain, sciatica and neck pain performing minimay invasive procedures such as radiofrequency treatments, epidura injection, facet joint injections in the back and neck for pain arising due to arthritis, pexus bock, nerve bock, cryotherapy, trigger point injections for pain in musce groups and management of neuropathic pain which arises secondary to nerve damage. GROUP SESSIONS: The Trust aso offers a Pain Education Group at our Darent Vaey Hospita site in Dartford. For groups of 8-10 peope, the session is aimed at teaching coping strategies and how to ive with pain. Instead of treating pain, our patients earn to cope with it and adapt their ife-stye accordingy. If appropriate, patients can be referred to this service by their consutant. GYNAECOLOGY Our experienced gynaecoogy team perform surgica procedures for a types of gynaecoogic conditions, incuding the remova of fibroids, treatment of poycystic ovaries, cervica poyps and ovarian cyst remova, perinea repair, vuva and perinea esions, biopsy of the vuva and the dissection of adhesions. Speciaists aso perform various reproductive endocrinoogy (infertiity) procedures and advanced endometriosis surgery. Our speciaist nurses run Urogynaecoogy Cinics incuding Urodynamics. Most investigations incuding hysteroscopy, urodynamics, utrasound, coposcopy and bood tests are avaiabe on site. This service is operating as a fuy staffed 5-day theatre service and 7-day ward area. Exceence in Panned Care New Services for patients: A one-stop cinic for the treatment of heavy menstrua beeding, incuding diagnostic hysteroscopy Patients can receive expert care for heavy menstrua beeding at the one-stop cinic at our Panned Care Centre, Queen Mary s Hospita Sidcup. This service is ed by our speciaist consutant Mr E-Matary. Treatment for endometriosis Mr Kovoor is our speciaist consutant for the treatment of endometriosis, who is dedicated to heping and providing support for women with this condition. Fexibe cystoscopy and Botox for overactive badder The Trust offers patients another option for reief of their urinary incontinence symptoms through the use of Botox in the treatment of overactive badder as an outpatient appointment. This means patients no onger need to trave to a tertiary speciaist centre for this service. This is ed by our speciaist consutants Mr Gupta and Mr MacDermott. Fertiity Service We now run a Fertiity Cinic on a Wednesday afternoon ed by our speciaist fertiity consutant, Mr E-Sayed 5 6

Patients are referred to this service by their consutants GP or nurse speciaist. UROLOGY Our uroogy team provides genera and speciaist care at our Panned Care Centre. Conditions treated incude: Erectie Dysfunction Growths (such as poyps and tumours) Incontinence Interstitia Cystitis Kidney Stones Other Uroogica Disorders Painfu Badder Syndromes Thanks to advances in medica technoogy, many procedures are now performed on an outpatient day-case basis designed to return patients home on the same day. The Trust now performs kidney and ureteric stone remova with the atest technoogy using Extracorporea Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL) to break down stones. This enabes our surgeons to perform a minimay invasive day-case procedure using aser technoogy surgery. With this procedure, patients usuay experience ess pain, have a reduced risk of infection, ess scarring and a faster recovery. This procedure is performed using our fixed ithotripter at our Darent Vaey site in Dartford. Ward based care is provided by experienced nurses, ed by our ward Matron where patients receive high quaity patient centred care which ensures the best outcome for our patients. 7 8

The Outpatient Department is open Monday Friday, Our senior physiotherapists deiver outpatient respiratory care assessments, education and treatment for conditions such as COPD, Bronchiectasis and Hyper-ventiation Syndrome. Our cinicians may make referras to oca Pumonary Rehabiitation services as required. Referras are accepted from GPs and consutants. CARDIOLOGY As part of our Panned Care Centre, we offer genera cardioogy outpatient cinics for our patients on the 1st foor in the Main Buiding. Our cinics are staffed by a consutant cardioogist and a team of speciaist cardiac nurses to provide expert cardiac care to our patients. We offer a broad range of services incuding, a GP wak-in ECG service; 24 hr/48hr/72hr and 7-day Hoter ECG monitoring; 24 hr Ambuatory Bood Pressure Monitoring; Fu 2D Echocardiograms with Coour Fow and Dopper studies; nurse-ed cinics for heart faiure and rapid access chest pain as we as vascuar services. IMAGING SERVICES Our imaging services are ocated on the 1st foor in the Main Buiding as part of our Panned Care Centre at Queen Mary s Hospita. These incude: CT (Consutant-ony referra) Maternity and Gynaecoogica Utrasound Mobie and Theatre II Support MRI Scan (via Aiance Medica) Routine Fuoroscopy Symptomatic Mammography Utrasound Urodynamics X-Ray Opening hours are Monday to Friday (excuding bank hoidays). The Department operates an emergency rota from , 7-days a week to support the wards and onsite Urgent Care Centre. ENDOSCOPY Diagnostic endoscopic examinations such as Diagnostic Gastroscopy, Coonoscopy and Fexibe Sigmoidoscopy are provided at the Endoscopy Centre in the Newand Buiding as part of our Panned Care Centre to provide patients with a highquaity service, in a reaxed and friendy environment. Our state-of-the-art decontamination unit ensures that our scopes are reprocessed to the highest standards and our team of doctors, physicians and surgeons are Joint Advisory Group in Gastroenteroogy (JAG) accredited to ensure exceent patient care and safety.
