2 Ibulletin California state college, san bennandino MORE THAN 900 GRADUATES TO RECEIVE DIPLOMAS JUNE 13 at 9 a.m. on the lawn south of the gymnasium. June 5, 198] Approximately 950 seniors and graduate students will be eligible to participate in the college's 15th annual commencement exercises Saturday, June 13. More than 500 are expected for the ceremony A member of the CSUC Board of Trustees, Wallace Albertson, will he part of this year's platform party. The participating clergyman will be Rabbi Hi 1 lei Cohn of Congregation Emanu El, whose wife, Rita, is receiving her master's degree. Faculty members escorting the graduates, faculty and platform party this year will be. Dr. Judith Rymer, faculty marshal; Dr. Frances Berdan, student marshal, and Leo Doyle, college marshal. A Wind Ensemble, directed by Keating Johnson, will provide music. The Alumni Assn. again has arranged for a commercial photographer to take pictures of all graduates receiving their diplomas from President John M. Pfau. Policing the c eremony, everyone is invited to the traditional reception in the gymnasium and to the student art show in the Art Gallery. Ralph Pace FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA To DEBUT SUNDAY The Festival Orchestra, composed of students and professional musicians, will debut in a free concert at 7 p.m., Sunday on the Commons patio. Members of the audience are encouraged to picnic on the lawn before the concert. The Commons will have Pianist Althea Waites (Music) will play I ce cream and soft drinks for sale at 5 p.m. Mozart's s "Piano Concerto in C." Soprano Devy Barnett-Buchen, wife of Dr. Irving Buchen (Humanities), will sing Barber's prose poem "Knoxville: Summer 1915." Another highlight of the program will be the western premiere of "A Festival Psalm No. 150," by Dr. Richard Saylor, conductor of the Festival Orchestra.

'STEPPENWOLF' "Steppenwolf," based on Herman Hesse's Nobel Prize-winning LAST FOREIGN FILM novel, is the last in the current Foreign Film Series. It will be shown at 7 p.m., tomorrow in PS 10. The movie is..,.. _ about one man's desperate internal struggle to find peace wit n imself. Max Von Sydow stars as the loner torn between bourgeois respectability and bestial antisocial impulses. The film is free and open to the public. FALL EXTENSION PROGRAM THE FAN extension program is being scheduled. All COURSE PROPOSALS DUE course proposals for consideration must be submitted to the Office of Continuing Education by Monday, June. ^5. Instructors interested in offering a program scheduled in the past or in developing a new one are asked to contact that office as soon as possible. Forms are available at the office, but completion of the form does not guarantee that a course will be scheduled. ANDROMEDAN!' The free premiere of "Andromedan!" is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Saturday, in the Recital Hall. Produced by O.P. Hadlock (Theater Arts), the film includes special effects and the acting tal-... V staff, students and faculty, including Dr. Irving Buchen (Humanities), and Or. William Slout and Dr. Amanda Sue Rudisill (Theatre Arts). An original score of electronic music was created by Philip West (Music). Dress will be semi-formal. BUILDING SCHEDULES FOR WEEK, JUNE 8-12 P.E. BUiLDING The P.E. Building will be open from 8 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday; and from 8 a.m.-a:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday. The weight room and the small gym will be closed Thursday. Lockers must be cleared by Friday, June 12. Except for the locker rooms, the building will be closed on this day. The pool will be open from 11 a.m.-a p.m., Friday, June 12, through the south gate. 5 IN SYMPATHY The college extends its condolences to the family of Mel Cooper, who died May 30 when the Loma Linda Medical Center helicopter he was piloting crashed near Beaumont. A resident of Rialto, Mr. Cooper received his master of business administration from Cal State, San Bernardino in June UNI PHI GIVES ANNUAL AWARDS The Uni Phi Club has announced the recipients of four awards given to individuals in recognition of their contributions on behalf of students with disabilities. Graduate student Weldon Sutton received the Anita Hallberg Award recognizing him as a student whose enthusiasm, determination and successful educational achievement are a model for students with extreme physical limitations. Student JoAnn Hartzog was recipient of the Barbara Sovereign Award, given in recognition of creativity and leadership qualities which best represent the positive image of a disabled person. Dr. James Person (Education) received the Frank Lootens Award, given to staff, faculty or student whose work behind the scenes has been a positive force for students with disabilities. Dr. Patrick Mullen (Education) received the Fred Kellers Award, recognizing him as a faculty member who has been respectfully sensitive and accommodating to the classroom needs of students with disabilities. NEW [^.EMBERS INDUCTED ^ total of 36 individuals were inducted into the Cal State J p p chapter of Phi Kappa Phi at an initiation ceremony May 30. Robert O'Brlen (sociology) has an article, "The Correlation Between Variate Values and Ranks in Small Size Samples," accepted for publication in the British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology.
