1 REGISTRATION FEE Scouts, Explorers, Venturers & Leaders (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) $16.00 Late Registration After September 2nd $21.00 The fee covers the cost of the patch, Commemorative BOP (Battle of Plattsburgh) Pin and awards. The BOP Pin is your all access pass to BOP events held throughout the weekend. It also covers the cost for the rental of the facilities and equipment, program materials, printing, mailing, etc. Fill out the appropriate section of the Registration Form and promptly send it along with the correct registration fees to the Twin Rivers Council. Pre-registration by all units attending, even if participating only on Saturday, is vital to ensure an adequate patch and award supply. It is requested that units register prior to September 2, The Battle of Plattsburgh Committee is seeking volunteers (units or individuals) to assist with the 5k/Cannonball Run/ and Fun Run. Please mark on the registration form if your unit would like to help and we will send more information. UNIT PARTICIPATION ALL BOY SCOUT TROOPS in the Twin Rivers Council are encouraged to attend the 2014 Camporee. VENTURE CREWS & EXPLORER POSTS are also encouraged to attend. There will be several program opportunities for Venturers and Explorers. Crews and Posts may attend, camp out, and participate in the Boy Scout activities. Crews and Posts may also have an opportunity to assist in the running of the Camporee. REFUND POLICY No refunds for reservations received after September 2, LOCAL TOUR PERMIT A Local Tour Permit does not need to be filed for in-council units attending the Fall Camporee. Your unit's Registration Form will serve as official notification of your trip to Plattsburgh, New York. However, all regulatory aspects of the Local Tour Permit must be adhered to (i.e., car insurance requirements, etc.). CARRY IN - CARRY OUT It is the responsibility of each unit to take their own trash out with them. Please remember Scouts take only pictures and leave only footprints! ROSTER Each unit will be required to submit a roster at check-in with youth and adults attending the Camporee.

5 EQUIPMENT In addition to the patrol and troop program supplies required for the Saturday activities, a unit should come prepared to camp onsite for the duration of the event. Please remember to bring: Tents and tarps as needed Water containers Troop flag and stand Lanterns Stoves Fire fighting equipment (rake, shovel, bucket) Food (five meals plus snacks) Plastic garbage bags (carry in, carry out) Patrol flags and stands Cooking fuel Fire Wood Limitation Due to the spread of invasive species in firewood, State regulation prohibits firewood (or non-treated wood for our gateways) being brought in from farther away than 50 miles. The exception is wood certified as meeting state treatment requirements, which can be purchased at stores such as Stewart s. PARTICIPATION RIBBONS & PATCHES Participation ribbons will be awarded to every unit attending the Camporee. Patches will also be awarded to ALL PAID PARTICIPANTS. RULES & REGULATIONS The following regulations have been issued to ensure proper safety and health standards for everyone: A. The Buddy System MUST BE used. B. Do not enter restricted areas. C. No On site parking for any vehicles including troop trucks or trailers. D. Conduct respect visitors of the Bicentennial BOP Celebration. The Celebration will be open to the public during the Camporee. E. Cooking Pits and/or on-ground campfires are prohibited. Off-ground barrel fires will be permitted. F. Fires must be attended to at all times. A filled water bucket must be kept near each fire. Fires must be extinguished before leaving camp or retiring for the night. G. No pets may be brought to the Camporee, with the exception of service animals. H. No throwing of edged weapons. I. Do not cut brush, trees, etc. (dead or alive) J. Automobiles must be in dead storage unless an emergency occurs or permission has been granted. K. Gray water (dish water, cooking water, etc) should be disposed of properly as directed by the sub-camp director. L. Vandalism (in any way) is strictly forbidden. M. It is not necessary for youth to bring axes (wood should be pre-cut so there is no need for axes, machetes, or large knives). N. No signs put on posts, trees, or existing signs. O. Fire hydrants are not part of the water source available for us to use. DO NOT USE. P. No fireworks. Q. No electronic games R. No alcoholic beverages.

6 No On site parking for any vehicles including troop trucks or trailers. PLATTSBURGH HEALTH & SAFETY REGULATIONS A. NO GENERATORS are to be used at the Camporee (unless for emergency services) B. FIRES NO GROUND FIRES ARE PERMITTED. Cook on above-ground stoves or use troop half barrel stoves. C. FIRE PROTECTION will be provided by Explorer Posts and local authorities. Each unit leader should establish and maintain a Troop fire protection plan. D. WATER an adequate supply of water will be available at the sub-camp locations. E. RESTROOM FACIILTIES portable toilets will be located where needed. F. PARKING - only authorized parking is permitted. NO vehicles/trailers are allowed in undesignated areas., including troop sites. G. ACCIDENT & HEALTH INSURANCE all registered youth and adult members of the Twin Rivers Council are covered by the Accident and Sickness Plan provided through the Council. NOTE all participants are also covered for liability insurance under local and national BSA coverage. All Scouts outside of our Council must provide proof of the above. H. FIRST AID First Aid stations will be located at various locations throughout the area for the duration of the event. Around-the-clock coverage will be available for medical emergencies. Don t forget your medical history forms or written information regarding any medical problems. I. SECURITY will be provided under the supervision of the local police. J. ARRIVAL & DROP-OFF Funneling over 1,500 Scouts, Leaders, and Troop equipment into a narrow roadway takes time. Please be patient!! Most units will arrive between 7:00pm and 8:00pm Friday evening. We will be prepared to accept units as early as 3:00pm. COME EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH!! NOTE Troop equipment may be dropped off in the unit site; however, all vehicles must be moved to designated parking areas immediately thereafter.
