(All Ages; All Floors) Discover Space: A Cosmic Journey was developed by the Space Science Institute s National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) in partnership with the American Library Association s Public Programs Office, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and the Afterschool Alliance. The project was made possible through support from the National Science Foundation. Stop by and hang out with us, play some board games, and introduce yourself to one of the best groups around! Feel free to bring your own games. (Adults; Sunflower Room) Tender Transplants Sunday, March 4, 2 4pm Learn how to start seeds indoors and transplant them to the garden. Laramie County Master Gardener Kathy Shreve will cover tender vegetable plants such as tomatoes, peppers, squash, and melons and demonstrate how to garden inexpensively using items found around the house. Volunteers play a very important role in making sure the Library achieves its mission. Volunteering provides several benefits for the library and for the volunteers. What Should We Do? Wednesday, March 14, 6:30 8pm The National Issues Forums Institute, in partnership with the Kettering Foundation, will be hosting A Public Voice on May 9 in Washington, DC., and the program will focus on the important issue of immigration. There is considerable interest by officeholders and government officials in public thinking on this critical issue. Early results from deliberative forums will be shared with policymakers at the May event. Come discuss this hot topic at the library and get your voice heard in Congress. Moderated by Julie Daniels.
